Q: Hi Peter and 5i team,
Grant money for our grandsons (age 5) RESP came in . The lowest weighting’s of his portfolio is NFI, TSGI, and Toy. What stock would be your top choice in topping up?
Thank you .
Q: TSGI... Stars announced NBA on line betting contract in Australia. Looks like a good deal. Aussies are second biggest gamblers behind the Chinese. Will this create more debt ? RAK
Q: Hi, your response to Stephen about TSGI "Blackstone, which owns 24M shares, has offered to sell 8.3M shares at a small discount." . Should one worry? This is 1/3 of their holdings. And does "at a discount" mean that they really wanted to get rid of the 1/3 as quickly as possible? I know you can't confirm this but can it be that they know something we don't?
Q: Your comments about Blackstone offering to sell 1/3 of holdings at a discount. What is the reason behind them selling at a discount and any negative news/sentiments about TSGI future prospects. Can you please elaborate further if you have any details.
Q: I read that you recommend GC as a replacement for CLS? I already own TSGI and wonder if I should buy GC or another company. I own KXS, OTEX ,SYZ already.
thanks
Q: Vince Martin, in an article on Seeing Alpha, wrote an extensive article on TSGI as "Cheap for a reason". One main point is they think Stars overpaid for Sky. That acquisition delivered a huge profit about the time of the purchase, and the acquisition would have been profitable if that were normal profit. However government is increasing their take and according to the report, ongoing profits will be challenged to repeat. Have you seen this report, and what do you think? Vince also said that the PE of competitors is also low right now, so they don't compare favorably with the competition.
Q: TSGI has not been trading well for several months. This may be a sign of real trouble with the company, or not. Curious if the inability of the stock to get any traction is from any of the major shareholders selling down their stake during the past few quarters.
Q: Hi 5i Team - My holding in TSGI is a little bit high so I am considering selling a partial position and moving it into another gaming stock in order to diversify in this space. First of all is it worth holding on to at least some (maybe half) of my TSGI and secondly could you provide your top picks in the gaming area with a brief explanation for each. Thank you.
Q: Hello 5I Team, Thanks for the great service that you provide.
I'm getting quite impatient and nervous about TSGI missing the 2019 bounce and suspect that USA potentially clamping down on gambling will remain a strong headwind for the foreseeable future. Would it be a better idea to get sell my position 4% total portfolio and re-invest in one or more of SHOP, GSY or CSU? If so, what would your order of preference be.
Q: In my portfolio I have following Canadian equities: AQN (4.9%), BCE (4.78%), BNS (4.64%), WXM (4.5%), SIS (3.8%), BEP (2.68%), MG (2.29%), KXS (2.03%), PBH (1.94%), MX (1.92%), COV (1.87%), TSGI (1.76%).
I have a full positions worth of cash I would like to add to my Canadian content and was wondering on your thoughts as to adding to one new stock (ATD.B, WSP, CCL.B, other suggestion), 2 half positions, or adding to my existing positions.
I have a 20 year time frame and comfortable with some risk.
Thank you.
Q: In response to Dave and his question regarding The Stars Group you used a phrase that you have sometimes used before; i.e. "The relentless selling may indicate something more". Perhaps you could elaborate. On the face of it you seem to suggest some investors have information not generally available to the rest of us and I'm not sure that's what you meant.
Thanks
Mike
Q: This company didn’t participate in the recent market bounce, usually not a good sign. Approaching recent lows. Is the market ancipating a weak quarter? When do they report next? Thank-you.
