Q: Hello 5I Team
I am just wondering if you see anything interesting in GUD’s financial results that might boost investor interest a bit.
Thank You for your good service
Clarence
Q: Why do you think the markets have been negative on GUD lately? Their last few quarters have shown significant growth in income. I show GUD down about 28% on the year. Thanks.
Q: Hi Group I have held GILD for 2 yrs and its just keeps going down is it time to take the loss ? (down 25%) also owned ABBV for 2 yrs also it to is a loser I know you like it please explain why I should continue to hold or? lastly GUD is a dog that I have been holding since the $10 plus days (they clearly are long gone is this a candidate for tax loss selling? appreciate your help on the above 3 questions
Q: I hold a position in GUD and am considering selling it to harvest a tax loss. Looking at the chart, a downtrend, when would be the ideal time to sell?.....Tom
Q: I'm looking for some ideas on how to strengthen my healthcare holdings, which only account for 5% of my portfolio. I have a full position in NVO, half positions in CSH.UN and SIS, and have just started to build a position in the PSCH small cap health care fund. GUD and COV are technically present, but both are losers and small enough to ignore/sell.
Q#1: What additions/changes would you suggest for a retired person who is in pretty solid financial shape (5 year holding horizon, can tolerate some risk, but not aiming to shoot out the lights)?
Q#2: What percentage of the total portfolio would you aim to put in healthcare these days? It seems like there are a lot of developments in this field.
Q: Gud is beaten up so badly. So am I..Have a 3% pos.@ $10.11 for long time & additional 1% @ $7.37.Any news for last 2 days positive moves? Is it time to average down to 5% total? Txs for u usual great views & services
Q: I do not own these 8 companies from the balanced portfolio and I do have some money to invest. I already have a reasonably well balanced portfolio (except overweight in tech). Dividends are nice but not that important. Is there one you would consider a particularly interesting buy with a timeline of 5 years? Could you rank the top3?
Q: Good Morning
I’m in the process of some year end house cleaning with the idea to reduce the number of holdings and adding some more upside potential. Considering selling partial positions in GUD and ATA and with the proceeds topping up two of either TRI,ECN TFII or AD. Would you firstly endorse the sells and which two would top up at this time.
Thank you for your continued guidance and support.
Q: There is one thing I don't understand. GUD bought Biotoscana one year ago I believe for almost $200M. The stock ran up 20% on that announcement to nearly $9 and now it is $5.50's. The thing I do not understand is didn't that acquisition do anything for the top or bottom line and hence give a positive light on the stock? You have said the last few months that investors are bored and waiting for an acquisition.
Isn't Biotoscana the acquisition? Thanks
Q: Thank you for the update last night. I was not surprised to see the removal of GC due to the COVID shutdowns. I am curious to know what the discuss was surrounding GUD and CAE before providing that update. Are these potentially on the chopping block as well or just require more patience. If you were to consider swapping GUD and CAE for something else what might you recommend in Canada and the US right now (asking about US as portfolio analytics suggests I need more US exposure)?
Thanks as always for the fantastic work you all do!
My health care and industrial sectors are on the low side (under 10%), please provide the top 3 plays (Canadian or American) in each sector. These picks would be going into a "balance" type portfolio.
Thanks
Jim
Q: Hi Peter,
With the value of GUD and its continued drift of GUD is there a point where a bigger Co might look to absorb it ? Besides bordem is there any other reason for its poor performance ? Thanks.
Q: Hello 5i team,
I'm looking for small companies in the Science & Technology field.
Could you give me names in the Health/Bio/Med sector: 3 in US, 3 in Canada
Ditto in Tech/Soft/Serv?
Thanks and keep well
Antoine
