Q: Hello 5i Team,

Given the current pull-back in the market, could you please provide your 6 highest conviction Canadian or US stocks (ranked in order) for (i) small-cap, (ii) mid-cap, and (iii) large-cap companies considering a 3+ year hold.

Q: Hi, Sorry there are lot of companies listed but in summary this is three part question:

1. I have BAM2%,BN9%,BEP5%. I was thinking of putting new money to KKR or BX or APO. Should i add new money to existing positions or to new positions. Which one and approx. price please.

2. All the listed are in red in various taxable and registered accounts. Which one is good candidate for new money , which one would be sell and hold.

3. ISRG is at 1.5%. Should i go to 5% in one shot or go slowly or just hold on . This is in taxable account.

Q: In response to some questions about Brookfield Corp/BAM sharp drop in Tuesday trading, I could add the following.

As per CNBC, there was a report today, related to perceived impact of AI on software Companies, which could seriously result in their profitability/business and eventually valuations ( already seen in publicly listed most software stocks). Most of the Asset Managers, with large books of private credit, having a fair portion of this credit related to start ups or early stage software companies, fell today, due to the fear of resulting losses and declining private valuation of such borrowers.

Most of the big asset managers were painted with the same brush, today, as it was not immediately known or disclosed, as to, which ones have significant exposures to such clients.

It might be helpful if you are able provide some more information about such exposure to the Brookfield group.

The answer was:

A) From portfolios: CSU, TRI, TFII, WSP, BAM, BN, GLXY, CLS, SHOP, DSG

B) US: NVDA, ISRG, BKNG, LLY, BRK.B, GOOG

If asked the same question today, what would the 5i response be?
( Goal is best total return, long term )

Sorry my last question meant to ask about individual stock compounders, not ETF's. Can you list 5 Cdn and US names that you would DCA into over time? For example, I'm assuming BN would be on that list. What other names? Looking for names that can CAGR +10-20% over time. Thanks!

Q: I am considering adding to these equities (ALA, BIP.UN, BN, CCA, CPX, DIR.UN, FTS, GSY, GWO, MFC, NWH.UN, TOU, TRP). Are there any you would not purchase more? In what order would you acquire for best overall combination of growth and dividend/distribution for the next two years.

Q: Could you provide the top (and rank) 3 or 4 stocks from each of the Income, Balanced and Growth portfolios to buy today.

Q: Between BAM and BEPC ...which do you prefer for income and growth in this current environment? I currently have a full position of BN for growth as well as a full position in BAM which provides some income but little growth as of late. I am considering selling BAM and moving to BEPC. I would appreciate your thoughts on this please.

Q: My daughter is starting a TFSA and as a full time student she doesn't have a lot of time. I have suggested a couch potato based strategy with rebalancing. I believe there are now ETF's that incorporate the whole strategy and the rebalancing and I am wondering if you have a few options to suggest with Canadian equity, international equity and a smaller bond component. Also if she wanted a buy once and hold forever type stock, what might be a few stocks to look at?

Hopefully this question goes through - I wrote up a similar one and even though it said success after submission the credits have not reduced and I don't see anything. I think this may have happened twice.

Q: I am not particularly proud to acknowledge that I own the above- but I do. ENGH and OTEX are in accounts that are structured for income and some growth, while DSG is in an account that is looking for primarily growth. Canadian traded is key for all. Looking for your input on these companies and whether there are better options that I am missing.

Seconding the comment today regarding your recent report. Well done and I hope that now you have it you continue to update it as companies come and go. It is a great resource.
