Q: I have 400 BN with an ave cost of $39.24 and current price $42.16
I also have 2 BNRE-ave cost $56.18 and current price $42.56

What happens if I transfer the 2 BNRE into BN with the different average cost and current prices?
Would it be better to keep them separated?

thanks,

Paul

Q: Dear Peter et al!

I am not good in coming up with limericks! If I were, I would somehow use Peter/Ryan and TD/BNS/BN in a limerick ! If I said you folks sound like a broken record it would be rude. May I say you sing that lovely tune that consists of notes TD/BNS/BN/RY always! Faithfully endorsing a buy on the above mentioned stocks.

But here is my question based on my mild bewilderment! On one hand your faith in BN is linked strongly to Mr. Bruce Flatt's managerial skills. But on the other hand BNS's CEO didn't meet your approval and you were at best very tepid in welcoming him! TD's foray into the M&A domain was a disaster!

Having said that my faith in your suggestions is unshakable! With this in mind, can you rank order these stocks in terms of priority of buying at this stage. How long do you think one has to wait for these stocks to return to decent price range. a year or two or three? Your crystal ball is lot clearer than mine!!

These are going to be held in our TFSAs and plan to buy and forget about them for a while! Keepers and not traders!

Q: Hi 5i team,

I have a growth and long term outlook and looking to trim some losers and replace with some winners. Of the following stocks, do you feel any need to hold for the long term? Also, what are some US/CAD replacements you would recommend and can you rank from highest to lowest based on overall strength?

Thanks 5i team.

Q: Good evening 5i.

The Marketbeat site indicates dividend increases for these companies (amongst others) during the month of May. I do not see the same increases on the 5i Dividend Updates page. Is Marketbeat correct?

Thanks

Q: I may have missed a few, but pretty sure I've made every mistake trading in the stock market, although thanks to 5i I've done quite well over the years. Prehaps my biggest mistake is holding on to loosers too long and taking big hits. Recently I've promised myself to sell when I'm down 25%. So, I'm now down 25 or more % on these 4 companies but dont want to sell. What says you?

Q: Here is a stock that portfolio managers and analysts have extolled its virtues and proclaimed the shares a buy. Yet the shares are in perfect downtrend moving from high to low with no signs of forming a bottom. So where are all mangers who like this company. Surely all those who liked the stock a few weeks back should like the company even more today. Or perhaps a cynic might possibly think that the shares are being recommended to the unwary so that they can distribute their shares. A market technician would surely conclude that the shares are currently a sell. Perhaps you could shed some light on what you think is going on. And if you still like the shares, why and where a bottom might logically occur. Thanks.

Q: I have see. Reports from TD and elsewhere about how extremely discounted BN is. For example “ BN's 75% stake in BAM alone represents ~80% of BN's market cap. The market value of BN's stakes in BEP and BIP (~$17bln combined) more than offsets corporate leverage of ~$16bln, which implies that the market is assigning less than zero value to: 1) BN's stake in BBU (~$2bln); 2) the real-estate portfolio; 3) the insurance business; and/or 4) carried interest.”

How is this company not a “table pounding buy” at these levels given management’s record and current price.

Q: Hi Team,
I was looking to add funds to one of the following 3 names: Bn, ATZ, or ATS. If had to choose which name would be the best buy today? My intention is to buy and hold long term.

Separately, what's your take on recent market negativity? Things seem to be escalating to the down side with Powell continuing to have his rosey goggles on continuing to raise rates as banks continue to fail, literally during his bumbling speech telling the world how solid US banks are? I know my confidence in the guy has dwindled as of late. Perhaps now is not a good time to buy and I should wait a bit with any new purchases? Opinion? Thanks

Shane.

Q: Good Afternoon,
I have owned Killam for a while. There has been no appreciable growth or dividend increase. What is the likelihood of either happening. Would I be better off selling Killam and purchasing another stock? If so, what stock would you suggest that would offer some growth and a good dividend. There is no tax implications as I hold Killam in my TFSA.
Thanks in advance for your opinion.
