Q: Sitting on some cash. Are there any good buying opportunities under the balanced portfolio you would consider at this moment for a 5-6 year time horizon?

Q: Hi group the above stocks i sold 1/2 of my folio about 3 months ago/ yes at a tidy profit. My question is I am 75 years old and have $100,000 to reinvest (20% of my total portfolio)...(dry power) i do not need any cash to supplement my income for at least 5 years unless the market falls of a cliff because of Trump/Tariffs. I would say I am a sleep at night investor So the question is what to do now wait or start nibbling now. These stocks make up about 70% of the total portfolio

Q: I am looking to add to my TFSA for a long term hold.
Realising different sectors but considering their current valuations, please rank these companies for a buy.

Q: Assuming the current selloff continues, VIX goes up to 35+, and recession is almost certain in the US. Regardless of sector, what US/CAD stocks YOU would buy for capital appreciation if you have CAD$ 100,000? YOU plan to hold these stocks more than 3 years and you believe these companies will survive the economic downturn no matter how hard it will be.

Q: Would you have a proxy for HPS.A, TFII, BN, NTR, ILMN or just wait out the 30 days?

Q: Could you please help us understand the impact/benefit of the possible change as announced by S&P Dow Jones.

" This week, S&P Dow Jones said it will consider a significant change that would allow some companies to appear in multiple countries’ indexes, paving the way for companies such as Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. BAM-T , Shopify Inc. SHOP-T
, to be both Canadian and American.

S&P Dow Jones says it could allow companies “with significant ties to Canada” to stay in a Canadian index even if it normally would consider the company “domiciled” in another country. The company would need to be incorporated in Canada to be eligible.

Until now, S&P Dow Jones has said a company can have just one country of domicile – and that country’s stock indexes are where it needs to be. "

Q: Why have the private equity stocks in US, been under pressure, for past 2 weeks ?

With a much higher intrinsic value, never thought that BN could trade as low as $74, after hitting a high of $90, not long ago.

Is there any reason, specific to Brookfield Corp, or it's just the market and sector decline ?

Q: I am getting ready to DCA into these stocks in an unregistered account with higher than average risk profile. According to me, these stocks had a bit of a pullback with possibly more on the way.

In what order would you DCA into the stocks mentioned above? Is there any stock that you think should be excluded from this list?

Q: Hi 5i, I know you don't like to discuss politics, but I'm getting worried that there might be some political risk creeping up on BN. Last night during the LPC debate one of the candidates opening lied about knowing BN's planned move to the US, announced Oct 31st and letter sent to shareholders on Dec 1st, signed by person lying who resigned on Jan 17th from their board. Should I worry about BN's entanglement in this factual matter?

Q: I have decided to orientate my portfolio more towards the US, while keeping approximately 30% Canadian. I am also looking at India for my first international investment. Most of these stocks are asset light and large cap.
In the US the sectors are non bank financials, tech, and industrials. In Canada I have chosen large caps with significant non Canada revenue.
My dividend income would decrease but I can handle that. This would be an equal weight portfolio.

What do you think of this approach and of the individual stocks?
Should I just buy an SPY 500 etf for the US ?
Is FFH appropriate for India or is there an ETF you would recommend ?
