Q: Hello
Brookfield Corp has smartly shot up to $82, from $75 level a few weeks ago, with stock showing strong momentum. It seems to have followed its private equity peers, with a favorable scenario after Trump win.
Company is also due to report in a couple of days.
We have a very small position < 1%, but like the Co a lot, being one of your favorites.
How would you approach building a position to at least 2% ? Would you be comfortable adding some shares, before the results and so at what price range ?
What is your recommendation to further consolidate this position, after results, if any weakness and price levels, please ?
Thank You

Q: You have consistently talked about your admiration for BN operationally. It has been trading in range for almost five years and is now hitting out a large breakout, almost independent of its subsidiaries. I know their CEO had spoken about the benefits of dropping rates. Any other comments on the rally here? Do you see it sticking for BN and also compared to private equity peers?

Thank you

Q: Hi. My wife and I are in the process of rebalancing our portfolio. We're in our 70s and our portfolio has treated us well. Unfortunately our winners have grown to create a portfolio that is now 70% tech and 30% cash.
We'd like to bring our Nvidia and Apple holdings from just over 20% for each to around 10 or 12%.
Where would you reinvest the proceeds of the sale outside of the tech sector?
What 5 top US companies and 5 Canadian companies would be your favourites and why?
Thanks
Frank

Q: What is the relationship between BN and BAM? I read that BAM just sold several different major assets at attractive prices, bur did not hear anything about whether BN would benefit from these sales. Does BN own a piece of BAM, or vice versa? Which is a better buy if i already own BIPC and BEPC?
Q: Looking at BAM and BN - who has the higher expected growth rate and who has the higher margins? BAM has higher yield but total return is the goal!

Q: Hello Peter,
With Brookfield moving its HQ to US, does this mean we will pay with withholding tax in our TFSA account for any dividends declared? Also, should one wait before adding to BN? Given Topicus's results, would it make sense to increase one's weight to from 2 percent to 3 percent .. Lastly, if one wants to stay conservative, would it make sense to sell TOI, and LMN and just focus on CSU? Much appreciate it

Q: Two questions (please take as many credits as needed):
Question 1:
BN has a 73% ownership interest in Brookfield Asset Management. BAM has a market cap of about $29B. How could one calculate the value of this 73% ownership of BAM based on market cap? I wasn't sure if the 73% was a figure of the total shares outstanding (and therefore value may be calculated as 0.73 x $29B) or whether the 73% interest was outside of the publicly listed shares (and therefore value would be calculated as much higher).
Question 2:
Based on the corporate restructuring announced, it says that "If approved, BAM will own 100 per cent of the asset management business, with Brookfield Corp.’s current 73 per cent interest held directly by owning approximately the same percentage of the publicly traded shares of BAM." Can you clarify what is changing here?

Q: In your response today regarding BN, you said they were looking at moving their hq to the US. I think that was a typo, since it seems only BAM is looking to move their hq and not the parent company BN, correct? Also I see some more recent info came out today, see here. Can you explain to us BAM shareholders what this means for us? Its a bit complex, and i'm not sure if us shareholders get hosed on this move. Thx
Q: Do you think it will take a rest for a while with the chart going up on the angle it has or
has it more to go?

Q: Why is their Share based compensation (SBC) so impactful and visible in the results? Is it because of the size of the company and revenue? Other companies I am sure has SBC but I rarely see it as a top headline item in earning press release.
Q: Is journaling shares from a TSX listed company to its US counterpart, a way to potentially benefit from a weakening canadian dollar and a strengthening Us dollar?
For Example, I journal my brookfield shares to the US market today, the current exchange is 1.38.
5 years from now I sell my shares in US dollars and convert back to canadian dollar at 1.45.
Does this make sense?

BN 5.00 %

Much appreciated.
