Q: Hello 5i team,
My holdings in the technology sector represent 23% of my portfolio; they consist of CLS, CSU, DSG, ENGH, GIB.A, KXS, OTEX, PHO and SHOP. I wish to shed at least 2 of them; which would you suggest?
Thanks,
Antoine

Q: A few days ago I read you dropped ENGH from your Balanced Equity Portfolio but now I cannot find reference to this on your model portfolio update page. Please remind us of which stock replaced ENGH at what weight and when was the switch made.

Thanks for your response,

Steve

Q: Would you purchase CSU at the current level to replace ENGH?

As well, is CSU an appropriate addition to my current holdings (OTEX, GIB and KXS)?

Thanks

Q: I am a bit confused by your latest move of dropping ENGH from the portfolio. It is your second highest rated tech stock with only CSU ahead of it at A ( vs ENGH A-). Most other tech stocks that you cover are rated B or B+. If I am using your rating system to help me pick stocks why would you not ditch the lowest rated in a particular sector first? I am sure there are some good reasons for it but they are not clearly outlined in your announcement of the change. If you feel that the ENGH run is over would a drop in the company rating ahead of dropping it from the portfolio be warranted.

Q: Howdy!
I try to be a buy and hold investor with a long-term investment horizon in my RRSP account.
I have recently joined your service and am thinking about trying to reposition my RRSP account to emulate the sector allocation in your Balanced Portfolio.
About 30% of my portfolio is sitting on cash /cash equivalent investments right now; and I have almost 0% in the Technology and Basic Materials sectors.
As such, would you recommend a position in all of the nine equities that represent the Tech and Basic Materials sectors in your Balanced Portfolio?
Or have some of them (like CCL.B) peaked /not as much room left for appreciation compared to when first bought?

Q: Hi 5i,

In rebalancing my portfolio, I find that I am sadly lacking in tech stocks. At present, I have: CSU 4%, KXS 1.5%, Shop 0.4%. Could you suggest options to bring the total up to about 15% and designating whether they would be better suited for an RRIF or TFSA account? As a senior, I should be more conservative but, at the same time, I can stand some risk.

With thanks.

Q: Hi Guys,

I am once again trying to clean up my portfolio and currently have no tech stocks. Can you please recommend your top 5 tech stock picks, they can be US or Canada?

Thanks

Q: I have been following your balanced portfolio. Have been reading questions and answers. Am thinking of selling a full position in Engh and purchasing otex or constellation software. What do you think? T as always

Q: Would really like your view on Celestica going forward and where the company stands based on valuation among their peers. And is there another tech stock one might consider which has a decent balance sheet... long term holder here.

Q: I am starting an RESP fund for my new son (initial investment maxed at $5000). I would like to begin with a somewhat aggressive growth-seeking small portfolio, and to then gradually add one or two stocks each year for diversification up to about 8 or 10 stocks in total. For my opening purchase, I am considering three stocks -- Kinaxis (KXS), Constellation (CSU), and Knight Therapeutics (GUD). Two questions: This seems to be a decent time to buy these particular stocks, would you agree? And would you replace any these stocks with any others? (I'm open to anything growthy, but have been considering Shopify (SHOP), Photon Control (PHO), Enghouse (ENGH).) Thanks, and great job.
PS: Should I wait to buy until a few days after the BoC rate decision, or has the market reaction more or less already played out?

Q: I am underweight in Engh and have taken a hit on it since buying in at 60+. My tech holdings are a cumulative 18%. Would you recommend a full position now ( to 20%) after the big drop or sit on the sidelines. I have a long time horizon, and am wondering if the bloom is off the rose for Engh, or should I wait for the next quarterly earnings.

Thanks as always.

Q: per your latest addition to the balanced portfolio, I plan to add CAE to my portfolio. To do this, however, I need to sell one of my other tech stocks. which amongst KXS,CSU,GIB.a,DSG,ENGH,CLS,OTEX would you suggest to sell at this time. All have a 2% weighting.
thanks
