Q: Hello, This question comes from your comments to Joel regarding BDI. I am holding DCI pending the completion of the sale and wonder if BDI would be a decent choice for income and future growth. I am thinking of selling now and making the switch. I would appreciate your thoughts, pro and con as well as alternates I could consider. My portfolio is well diversified so not a consideration for this change.
Thanks for the advice and input.

Q: HI Peter,
I have small positions in the three companies: ECI, ALA, and ACQ. I would like to reduce my holdings to two. I am looking for income and capital appreciation. I was thinking of selling Enercare and putting the proceeds to Altagas and leaving ACQ the way it is. Please advise. Thank you.

Q: My wife and I each have 15000 in contribution room for our TFSAs. Thus far we have chosen more aggressive growth companies (such as KXS,GUD,SIS,NFI among others) based on your excellent recommendations. Can you suggest a few companies with potential growth but with a bit more size/stability than our existing choices. For example, we have considered FTS but are not sure if its growth profile is an appropriate fit for a TFSA. Thank you for your advice.

Q: I own these 2 stocks in equal amounts in my TFSA which equate to 6% of my total portfolio-the rest in RSP which comprises of mainly banks, utilities ,REITs and infrastructure stocks along with AD,SPB,VSN,WEF and PKI. Am looking for a dividend paying small cap stock with 4% yield with growth prospects to add to TFSA. Any ideas? Thanks

Q: What are your thoughts on the earnings of the above companies - Emera just bumped up their dividend by 10% and results looked good. Results were good for Fortis and Enercare also. All 3 have exposure to US.

I currently hold Enercare and am looking to add more weight for long term (20+ years) to utilities. Any recommendations ?

Q: I would be curious to see if there is any "scuttle-butte" on Enercare. It seems to be moving up quite nicely in the last 3-6 months. In a recent reply to a member you said you would be comfortable purchasing it up to
$17.25, now that it has reached $17.75 (at time of writing) are you still
comfortable? Seems to have good momentum!

Thanks in advance

Q: Hi
I'm looking for a handful of high yielding companies with a good balance sheet.
In what order would you rank the companies listed? Any other companies you really like that could also be included or preferred over these? Thank you.

Q: In your write on NPI you said "there are other 5% yielders with less leverage". Can you tell me who they are.

Thank you as always

Q: I am retired and have several dividend stocks. I'm a recent member to 5i research and am looking at adding AW.UN and ECI from your income portfolio. They have increased in price since you put them in the portfolio. Is it still advisable to purchase them at the current price or could you suggest a maximum price point for purchase? I plan to hold them for a few years.

Q: I am a retired, conservative dividend-income investor with a pension, CPP, annuities, and hold the following: AD, AQN, ALA, BNS, BCE, CGX, CJ, ECI, FTS, PBH, RY, TRP, WCP, WEF, WSP, Sentry Cdn Inc, RBC Cdn Eq Inc, Sentry REIT, ZLB, XIT and Fisgard Capital.

I am looking to top up my consumer stocks, already having full positions in CGX, ECI and PBH.

I am also looking to top up my industrial stocks, already having a full position in WSP and those contained within Sentry Cdn Income.

Suggestions for new holdings with a dividend > 3% please.

Thanks for your help...Steve

Q: Why is it that this stock looses 2,5% upon the release of an expected deal? Are there any changes that was missed by the market? What is your opinion of this stock moving forward to 2017?
