Q: Why do pipelines, such as PPL, ENB and ENF, have been sold off so aggressively in the last while? Any particular reasons? Since Keystone XL has been revived would it not give the pipeline sector a boost?

Q: My only energy holdings are equal positions of ALA, ENF and PPL. These total 7% of my equity portfolio and are held in a registered account (RRIF). In your view does this represent an over-concentration in the energy sub-sector, and if so which of the three would you sell? I could sell ENF or PPL at a profit, but would incur a loss by selling ALA. Thank you.

Q: A senior in his 80s has recently inherited 200,000. We have put 100,00 into laddered GICs. We would like to divide the remaining 100,000 into 4 income investments. We would like your opinion on the following stocks. Income and safety are paramount. Please list them in order of preference and feel free to add any we have not thought of. BCE,BNS,ZPR,ENF,AQN. Thanking you in advance for your opinion
Q: Could you comment on both RNW and ENF? Do you have a preference or are both OK to hold for income?
Thanks and have a Merry Christmas.

Q: Please explain why ENB uses the "drop down" of assets to ENF? As a heavily indebted company (ENB), does this tactic make it easier to access capital in the future by selling a portion of the shares it owns in ENF than issue more debt?
Q: As a follow up to my question Dec 2nd about energy:
1. What is the difference between ENF and ENB?
2. My scepticism about energy, particularly upstream, is due to direct impact and volatility arising from commodity markets, in turn strongly affected by politics. This may now be compounded by low expectation of growth. Comments?
3. Philisophically, I don't like Superior Propane (SPB) much. When I bought it, it was as I recall in a single industry - propane. It since added divisions for specialty chemicals and construction products which seem wholly unrelated and lacking synergy with the core business. I vaguely recall their recently selling or planning to sell one of these unrelated divisions. In principle, I have a problem with companies expanding into unrelated businesses, unless their stated mission is to be a diversified investment vehicle. Comments?

Q: Someone on BNN said they were SHORTING Enbridge because of their Huge Debt. Should I be worried? If yes, is ENF a better option?
Thank You! Austin
Thank You! Austin
Q: Would there be any advantage to owning both these related securities in my taxable account? I already own Enbridge with a low cost base and wondering whether I should leave well enough alone. Thanks.
Q: Long term for increasing dividend which of the above would you hold? They pay a similar dividend and have performed similarly over the past 5 years. The taxes are less for ENF compared to BIP.UN when held in a nonregistered account however like I do. Thanks.
Q: In respect of today's announced deal between Enbridge and Spectra, what do you think the impact will be on Enbridge Income Fund, if any?
Thank you
Thank you

Q: I am interested only in income from the following companies: Freehold Royalties, Prairiesky Royalty and Enbridge Income Fund. Would you recommend a buy for any of these companies at this time? If so, will you rate them?
Q: which would you recommend for income growth, stability and reasonable valuation. Capital appreciation is not as important. Looking for a 2 to 3 year hold. Thanx.
Q: Hi. I am considering Enbridge income fund in my TFSA. Is it a good entry point or is there something better in this category? Thank for such a good site! Debbie
Q: ENF's results looked quite good. But it's down today while ENB is up again. Can you explain the divergence. I'm getting frustrated with ENF.
Q: ENF pays a good dividend but has fallen considerably recently. Yet BNN rates it at 3 strong buys, 2 buys, 1 hold. On the other hand, BMO rates it as 0 Bulls, 8 Bears, falling yet undervalued. I have a full position; Hold, Trim or Sell? Thanks
Q: I have a full position in ENF and it has dropped 5.5% since the end of March. Any reason? Or is it time to trim? sell?
Q: What happened to ENF today? We have 1000 shares. Sell half? Sell all? Can you recommend a better dividend paying stock? Thanks
Q: Your current view of enf-t is appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Hello,
I currently have a half position in ENF and IPL representing the energy portion of my portfolio at ~4%. I am looking to build my energy position slightly and was considering building ENF to a full position or selling it to go for a full position in ENB. Which way would you lean for long term position at this time?
Thanks,
Jeff
