Q: i've done well in 2024 with a number of 5i canadian small and mid cap picks such as CLS, PRL,TVK, WELL, HPS, etc.
I did similarly well with a number of picks in 2021 only to watch those gains evaporate in 2022.
I know 5i prefer not trying to time the market but i'm watching my 2024 winners trend down, some more than others.
I still believe in the fundamentals of my 2024 winners but if the market is trending down is there not some point one should step aside, take the profit and wait for a new or renewed uptrend?

Q: It’s RRSP season. I am very overweight the US market (and tech) and with the declining dollar, I am considering buying a Canadian security.

Can you list your 5 favourite Canadian Picks for a Canadian RRSP. I already own GSY, Propel, TVK. Considering CNQ as I have no energy exposure.

You can be aggressive or conservative in your recommendations. I have no preference as to market cap or sector.

Q: I owned CLS in 2000 and unfortunately in 2001 and rode the dot com bust all the way down. What is different, if anything, this time around? My 1/4 position is now a 1/2 position, thank you, but it has gone up too high too fast, and I have a long memory. At these levels is it a buy, hold, or sell? Or is it a keep your finger on the trigger, which is not my preferred buy and hold strategy. How will I know when the tide is turning or turned?

Q: I'm curious about companies that have been rather lacklustre but somehow have experienced some catalyst that has allowed them to gain their footing once again and recently started to move up in value considerably. Q: What is 5i opinion of Investor Business Daily service? They publish an IBD50 and IBD Big Cap 20 list. Have you looked at these names on the list over any period of time and is it a valuable tool? You may not be able to answer this if you don't use the service but if you do out of the names on the lists what would be your top 5-7 names?
