Q: This is kind of a followup on your reply Sept 28. I think that these are cyclical stocks which are best bought when the sector is out of favor and depressed. Are they still buys this late in the cycle? Is the selloff of 1/3 just a retracement before another leg up, or is it over and time to clear out? To you what indicates when this lumber cycle is over?

Q: Re OSB announcing a "dividend of $4.5/share to shareholders of record Sept 1"
....I can't tell whether that is meant to be an ANNUAL or ONE TIME dividend?
.. Are you able to clarify?
Also, could you please comment on the listed stocks...which do you hold most favourable and why, also the suitability of purchase of any of these NOW
Thank-you

Q: West Fraser Timer and Interfor have both been highly volatile for some time, presumably due to tariff fears. I was not concerned with the declines as long as they recovered. However, both have now plunged significantly and are not showing signs of bouncing back. Is there anything to be overly concerned about here?

Q: Focus: Forestry Sector. No tax implications. One position: IFP.
5i compared/ranked:
- 2018-05-21: CFP vs WEF (Tim)
- 2018-02-05: WFT, CFP, OSB, IFP, WEF, CAS (Victor)
Today, in terms of overall 3-5 year total return including dividends, with some growth, please rank referenced stocks, with basic reasoning.

As usual, thank you for continued wise advice.

Q: I do not understand what is happening with West Fraser Timber. They released favorable first quarter results on Wednesday, touched $95.10 early yesterday and since then have dropped nearly $10 (at $86.51 as I write this). I find no explanation for this drop on my brokerage website or in any news headlines. This seems like a lot more than profit-taking. What are your thoughts? I considered this a core long-term holding.

Q: I'm interested in taking a position in the forestry sector as this high flying sector is seemingly under the radar. Of the following main stocks in forestry: WEF, CFP, CAS, IFP WFT, OSB, kindly rank them in the order of which ones should have the highest growth potential in the next year or so. Thanks.
