Q: Hi Everyone at 5i! I was notified that I can participate in a class action lawsuit against Concordia. Is all the palaver worth it in your opinion? Cheers, Tamara

Q: I received a notice of the certification and settlement of the Concordia class action.
They have $5,294.365.61 less legal fees. They state: "Qualified shares disposed of on or before the 10th trading day after the public correction (Aug. 25, 2016)". I myself along with a lot of 5i people (who sold on or about that date) sold my shares on August 18 (settlement date). The rules of this are very convoluted. It doesn't look like I qualify. If I did, I would have to send the information to you to have it interpreted. Hope you can shed some light on this. Thanks Dennis

Q: I held CXR when it was over $100.00 and added to it on the way down. Eventually at $25.00, myself and 5i members were waiting for the quarter and after the report, it dropped to $12.00 and 5i said they were getting out of it. So did I. The same thing happened with RHT. I am concerned that COV a $9.00 plus stock now in the $6 plus range, seems to be repeating the pattern of the two above-mentioned stocks. My question is do you see the same thing happening again with this stock? Thanks Dennis
Q: I have been sitting on some CXR shares I foolishly bought many years ago - I guess I just could not bear to take the loss. This morning the shares have come to life thanks to a press release. I think I should now sell my shares. Do you agree?
Q: Thanks for explaining the Concordia news release. If the shares are essentially worthless, why is anyone buying today? I had a few shares in two accounts and they were snapped up at .45 as have many other trades. What are the buyers going to do with them if they have such a minute value?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Please explain your impression of the Concordia news this morning.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Morning,
The stocks mentioned are examples of Canadian stories that remarkable runs in recent years. PHO had an amazing 2017 and obviously CXR made those who sold high a ton of money. Same with CRH. Question is, for 2018, can you name 3 Canadian stocks that may be under the radar but could emerge as darlings once better known? Specific interest would be in stocks with proven assets or concepts more so than those waiting for a stroke of luck like a drug approval or patent.
Thanks!

Q: Hi,
Unfortunately I bought some of these energy stocks back in 2014 and I am down +30% on all of these. I have just over a 5% weight currently in energy (not including ALA, ENB and TRP which I've included as part of utilities). Which do you think I should continue to hold and which ones should I just throw in the towel and sell?? I am a long term growth investor.

Q: Hi 5i - what are your thoughts on the quarterly results and CXR's ability to "stay afloat"!? Thanks, Neil
Q: You were right about CXR.
I was reading recently that their earnings were improving some and hoping for a small bump before dumping my remaining shares. Looks like I asked one day too late.

Q: It appears that what Peter has anticipated for CXR is about to occur. Financial Post reported earlier today, in part: "Following previous efforts to retool its capital structure, Concordia is beginning a court proceeding under the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA). The company hopes to reduce its existing secured and unsecured debt obligations by more than $2 billion."
Q: I know you're not a fan of the above stock, but I believe the earnings report is coming in early November. Does it look like it may improve for the next report or is more bad news coming?
thanks, Paul
thanks, Paul
Q: Is this can be a speculative "buy" or still can go down or worth nothing.
Thanks
Thanks

Q: I have held these equities in my well-diversified portfolio for many years and am a long-term investor, not averse to risks, and do not need the cash. Which if any do you think I should dispose of , and why? Thank you.
Q: Just like sudden turnaround of HOME TRUST,Do you see any possibility of any other stock such as VRX OR CRX or any other with some possibility?.
Q: I see that Valiant has some assets that other will purchase. Does CXR have any assets that people would want to purchase. VRX had a pop of 10 % today on announcement of selling assets. Any hope for CRX selling something to get a pop in their shares or is it DEAD ! I noticed CXR was up today. Was that in sympathy to VRX move ? RAK
Q: Hi 5i - can I get your comments on CXR's results? Anything to like here? Thanks, Neil
Q: Is it time to revisit this beat up stock? Seems to be generating decent cash from operations and is cheap as borscht.
Thank for your sage advice as usual.

Q: Hello Peter,
With regards to the question posed to you for HCG by one of your members, i can relate to the frustration and disappointment that your team did not see it coming. However, at the same time, as investors, we have to realize that you can only advise based on the data you have available. Past data can be used as input to determine Future company or sector trends, but cannot guarantee success as no one can predict the future. I think it is best to focus on how we can avoid such stocks in the future given great metrics in the past (HCG had high ROE, decent PE etc ) and all of a sudden we start hearing issues with the company. Can you please shed light on what investors can watch for to avoid such pitfalls? I am using your service, watch BNN, read newspapers and other letters along with placing stop losses to minimize downside. From what i have seen, it is best to stick to decent paying dividend stocks like BCE, SLF, Banks, etc Growth stocks just seem to have too much hidden which comes to surface later or they are targets for short sellers. Thanks for your valuable input.
