Q: Hello,
Could you please comments on CGX earning results, debt ratio and outlook. Also how is CGX valuation compare to its past and compare to its peers?
Thanks

Q: There were rumours about Cineplex potentially being acquired. Is there any news or updates on this?
There does not seem to be any recent news but CGX is trending downwards? Am I missing something?

Q: Not a question - just a note repeating the business news that four (4) insiders bought recently at around $23 for a total cost of about $350,000. Not big money but not exactly chump change.
Q: Would you take a position in CGX at these level ? 5 year time horizon. 3% of portfolio.
Is the 7.5% yield correct / safe ? Can you please comment on their payout ratio.
Thank you

Q: Retired, conservative dividend investor. I consider a "full" position to be around 5%, which is reserved for the likes of "true blue chips" (BCE, BNS, RY, FTS, TRP, etc.) and lower weights for non-blue chip. I hold the following securities, with the following weights:
CGX = 4.4%
NWC = 2.7%
PBH = 4.8%
TCL = 3.3%
Q#1 = Regarding topping up, I am virtually at a full weighting with CGX and PBH. Based on today's Qtr results for CGX, would you top it up?
Q#2 = Given my blue chip comments, would you add more to NWC? I was thinking of moving is to 4%.
Q#3 = Regarding TCL, I am down (surprise!). At $15, it is looking very interesting. Depending on the width of your pencil, it looks like a decent level of support right where it is now...versus catching the proverbial falling knife. Current strategy = wait for Qtr numbers June 6...agree or add a bit?
Three questions...please deduct 3 credits.
Thanks...Steve

Q: Hi Peter/Ryan
I am buy & hold investor. With quarterly results out for couple of mentioned companies, do you think any of these stocks don't fit in that category anymore irrespective of sector or there are better ones ?
Thanks

Q: I want to do a home renovation project and need some cash. Could you rank these stocks in order of the ones you would sell first to last in my position. Cineplex, Couche Tard, North West, MTY, Power Financial, Enghouse and Calian. I probably only need three names to raise what I need.
Q: What are the 1Q estimates for Cineplex? Thank you.

Q: I am a retired, conservative, dividend-income investor.
Q #1 = I have partial positions in CSH, CGX, PBH, TCL. Would you top up any of these positions?
Q #2 = I am a little light on Consumers. I am having trouble finding an ETF in the consumer sectors that pay a "reasonable" dividend. My ideal dividend target is > 3%, but I'd consider > 2%.
Two questions...please deduct 2 credits. Thanks...Steve

Q: I own this stock and should sell it as I watch your seminar which was very good on picking a stock but not sure what I should replace it with? From your growth portfolio which stock would choose and from the balanced portfolio which would you choose ?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Cineplex is something I understand as a movie-goer.
My question is two-fold:
1) Are they doing enough to diversify their business outside of the core film theatre business?
2) Is their dividend at risk?

Q: Any updated views on Cineplex? Debating on whether to hold or sell, would be realizing loss of over 25%.

Q: I have the above securities, as well as RBC Cdn Equity Inc, Sentry Cdn Inc, Sentry Global REIT, and fixed income via Fisgard Capital, Annuities, a company pension, CPP and soon-to-be OAS.
I really focus on asset allocation and am a little light on Consumer stocks, holding CGX, PBH and TCL (although some consider TCL to be in the Industrial sector). I am normally a buy-and-hold investor who trims-adds around core positions.
Question 1 = I am looking to add 1 more consumer stock and am looking for a dividend ideally > 3%. Based on my stock-ETF-MF mix, are there a few stocks you could suggest that would fit in my above set of securities.
Q2 = if I was to consider ideas from the Income Portfolio, is there an issue with having multiple food stocks....like PBH and A&W and NWC. Why have more than one food stock?
Q# = because A&W is a ".UN" company, how are their dividends treated for tax purposes? Are they eligible for the dividend tax credit?
Deduct as many credits as you deem appropriate....got loads and will never use them all up.
Thanks as always...Steve

Q: Good afternoon,
I began building an Investment Account with the ETF's approx 10% weight each. I added CGX(for Dividend) and a GIC when I was unsure of what to do.
I realize the overlap with XDV;XIU;CDZ; and the Royal Dividend Mutual Fund. What do you recommend I do with the overlap? Diversification? I would like to begin to add individual stocks. Long term horizon. Have RRSP and maxed TFSA.
Growth and medium risk profile. Thanks Paul
