Q: I have read that some of the big US media companies are going to start allowing people to view newly released movies at their home (for $30-$50) only shortly after it is released to theaters. How much of a concern do you think that is to Cineplex as a long-term hold?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Following up on my earlier question about where to find the removal of CGX from the balanced portfolio, is there a way to get a listing of all historical changes to a portfolio? Or, as an alternative, where can I access past member updates to sift through to get the changes? Getting a listing of all changes is the preferred way to go.
Q: In a previous question today about cgx, it was indicated that it will be removed from the balanced portfolio. Where was this information provided? I don't see it.
Q: I hold Cineplex in my balanced portfolio. And I also have an income portfolio. With your news of Cineplex coming out of the 5iR Balanced Portfolio, I'm wonder if you would consider it as an inclusion in an Income Portfolio if the income portfolio was to be expanded by a few more positions, knowing your preference is for 20, or whether it would just be added to a list of entities for consideration for an income portfolio......Thanks....Tom
Q: Any reason for CGX's drop of 1.4% on Friday besides triple witching?Appreciate u normal great services & views

Q: Hi. Since joining your service I have slowly sold my mutual funds and built up the portfolio listed. I have an equal percentage of these listed except M at 16% AVO at 1.6% and SGY at .6 %. I have a mutual fund left at 6% that I would like to sell. For a balanced portfolio today what would you recommend I purchase? 3 - 5 year timeframe. Please deduct appropriate credits for the long question. Thanks.

Q: My Consumer-Cyclical sector is 6% too high and Technology sector is 2% too low.
So need to sell one of (AW.UN, BPF.UN, BYD.UN, CCL.B, CGX, ECI), each with ~ 2% position. Hard to sell any of these tried-true 'favourites' -but trying to take the emotional side out of the decision, and be disciplined. So, I think I should sell CGX because it has been flat for 2 years and I don't expect much upside. Can you provide your an order of selling preference?
And I need to add to these existing Technology Sector holdings (CSU, ENGH, KXS, MDA, PUR, SHOP). Thinking (OTEX, ITC) or more of existing ones.
57 year-old with a Growth & Sector & Dividend oriented portfolio.
As always, thank you for your wise guidance.

Q: I am thinking of rebalancing my Dividend growth portfolios by selling some of my over weighted bank winners and buying some of my laggards and lower positions. Could you please rank these potential laggards for acquisition into a mainly dividend growth portfolio, the candidates are SIS, SYZ, PUR, AGT, CGX, AQN, SPB & DHX. Please let me know if you are really strong for any of these stocks or would really suggest avoiding any of these companies. Thank you again for your great service.
ps KHW looks like a real winner, thank you.

Q: Hello Peter, I know you like all three of these companies. My RRSP and TFSA are already well-diversified. On top of that, I'm now trying to build a non-registered account for long-term holdings (mostly solid, 'steady Eddy's' such as ATD, ENB, T, FTS). I'd like to add 2 full positions to the account. Which two of CSU, WSP and CGX would you suggest adding at this point for long-term gains, factoring in a 'sleep at night' element. (No concern over dividend rates.) Thanks for the continually excellent service! James

Q: Your response to Brian on Dec 15 included the following comment: "if you own 85% of your portfolio in high dividend stocks, then this is more of a concern".
I am a retired, conservative, dividend-income investor, with a pension, CPP, annuities, the above listed stocks and 3 income producing MFs (RBC Cdn Equity Income, Sentry Cdn Income, Sentry Global REIT).
I fit the 85% easily. I believe my portfolio is diversified by sector and by security. I also believe the securities have, for the most part, sustainable and growing dividends. I am a "buy-and-hold investor with reasonable tolerance for volatility.
Your comments and concerns please, along with any recommended improvements. Thanks...Steve
