Q: Please compare and contrast the differences between HYLD.U and SDAY { not as yet in your stock listings } .... I have a 6.5% position in HYLD.U and considering starting a position in SDAY ...... I want to know if there is too much overlap to justify this ? Please define SDAY's investment strategy .....Also on their website they say the last distribution was .18 and then goes on later to say distributions are done twice a month ..... So if one takes them literally that implies an 18% annual dividend ...... I'm inclined to think they meant monthly but I don't know ...... Which is it ? 9% or 18% ? Thanks for your terrific service ......

Hamilton Enhanced U.S. Covered Call ETF (HYLD $14.52)

Hamilton Enhanced U.S. Covered Call ETF (HYLD.U $15.36)
Q: Do you consider HYLD as a reasonably safe place to store cash in my normally growth orientated TFSA while I decide on a growth stock I want to invest in long term? (The high yield is very tempting).
Thank you.
David

Hamilton Enhanced U.S. Covered Call ETF (HYLD.U $15.36)
Q: So I am looking at a high yield Canadian issued ETF with distributions in USD. Growth is secondary to yield as it it is to partially offset the increasing costs of wintering in Florida. Is the price of HYLD.U.CA ( $14.75 ) in CAD or USD ; likewise what currency is the distribution ? I understand this ETF has 1.25 leverage.
Would this ETF met my goals of high income from stocks representing the broad US market?
Are there other products that meet my goals ?
Thanks. Derek.

Hamilton Enhanced Canadian Covered Call ETF (HDIV $19.55)

Hamilton Enhanced U.S. Covered Call ETF (HYLD.U $15.36)
Q: In a normal world I would keep both of these for diversification purposes. But this isn't a normal world. It's a Trump world and Feb.1 is an ominous date to me . I have a 3% position in HDIV and a 3.5% position in HYLD.U . I am re-balancing for Trumpification purposes generally { individual Trump vulnerable Canadian stocks are being sold and cash is being raised . Likely somewhere around 20%-25% cash when I am done } } and will likely increase HYLD.U to around 9-10% when finished . Would you endorse selling my HDIV and using the funds to increase HYLD.U ? Selling one to buy the other will bring my HYLD.U to somewhere around 6.5 % before I decide whether or not to go as high as 10% . The decision on the increase from 6.5% to 10% will be made after I see just exactly what he has planned ..... The question really is whether you would endorse a move away from Canada in the short term with these two ETF's ? At least until the smoke clears ? Thanks for your terrific service ......Garth ......
Q: In my taxed investment account I’m looking to increase my USD monthly income. I have Canadian banks, utilities, telecoms in USD so I receive their dividends in USD’s. What do you think about adding a covered call like HYLD.u or other? (prefer to avoid withholding tax). Thx!
