Q: I have an RRSP account that I have had for years with only mutual funds in it. It doesn't have very much growth and I'd like to do something else with the money, but don't want to pay it a lot of attention, but rather let it sit in the background and grow for the next 15-20 years. It represents about 25% of my total holdings. All my other accounts are fairly balanced, mostly with your recommendations, but I realize I have no REITS at all. I'm wondering about rolling this one into a group of solid dividend producing REITS. Are you able to mention 5 or so that would be diverse and relatively safe for this kind of hold? If you find 20% too large of a position for REITS please suggest some other larger stable co's that I could buy and forget. Thanks. Kim

Is H&R REIT a buy here? The unit price erodes as the Trust restructures or whatever it is doing. I like the move into US residential, which is why I own it.
I have read elsewhere that the NBV is $25. Do you concur & is it a buy here?
I own a bit (at 20.25) for the income and was thinking of adding. Finally, do you think there is takeover potential here, as I am thinking? Thanks, I appreciate your opinion.

Q: I have about a 3% position in HR.UN and a 4% position in SRU.UN. Both pay a good dividend but I'm down about 9% in both. Perhaps I should switch to a residential or industrial Reit for more growth potential. Any suggestions?

Could you please choose from the above list (or any additions of your choice) the stocks that you feel would be best suited to be held in an income/dividend non registered account for a long period of time. It would be great if you could also guide me as to whether I should do equal weight or if it is better to invest by a percentage of one company over another. I am interested in trying to have the highest return of dividends but I do not want to reach too far for it (ie 50% KWH.UN). If I could get a blended 6% annually over 10+ years that would be super. Not all the companies need to be included. I know there are some that overlap sectors.

Q: H&R REIT announced the sale of their US retail properties. Proceeds will be used to pay down debt ant to expand their residential portfolio. Do you think this will have a positive impact on the share price? It has been languishing for a while now.

I currently own both these companies however i am wondering if its work switching to Artis (AX.un) given the cheaper evaluation and its expansion outside of Alberta. Looks like the worst is behind it but just wondering if its worth the switch. Look for a bit of growth and yield.

Q: Hello 5i Team.
I own these stocks for the dividend, in sectors that are currently getting hit due to rising interest rates (I assume). From your point of view, is it best, if one needs the income, to not be concerned with losing equity value and just continue collecting the dividend and hope that over time, these stocks will recover? Or is it best to sell and research other options. (I am 66 years young). Please also rate these stocks from best to least in terms of dividend safety and growth potential. Thank you for your wise advice.

Q: I hold these 3 RIET’s in my investment accounts. I am looking for a replacement for H&R. Would appreciate your suggestions to provide a reasonable return with some growth. The holding will be in a taxable account.
