Q: Hello Peter and team,
What do you think of cenovus results? I have three stocks in oil sector: cve, wcp, and arx. Do you think i should switch cenovus to Tamarack Valley.. Eric Nuttall on BNN seems to think cenovus is an excellent buy but the results this am did not sit well with investors in pre-market.. Please advise. thanks very much

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,

In general, how many stocks in the energy sector should one hold? I'm asking this because Portfolio Analytics is suggesting an increase in this sector. At present, we hold ENB, TVE, and TOU, with TVE being the largest holding. Are there any other complementary names that we should consider? I'd like to adopt an equal-weight strategy for this sector. Would you agree? I've been thinking about adding ARX and SU, and as always, appreciate your guidance.

Q: I am planning to wind down my energy stocks over the next few months because they are now approaching 2014 highs and, historically, these highs are temporary. Which would you back out of soonest and why? Or would you disagree completely? Thanks in advance.

Q: I own the above cdn. energy names and would like to add to one or two of them. Would you please rate them from best to worst in your opinion, and which one, based on current valuation and other metrics, you would add to at this time. Many thanks, Don

Q: I am interested in buying some ARX which I would normally buy on the Canadian exchange but I am currently holding more $US cash than $Can. In the US ARX trades on the pink sheets. Are there any risks in buying it on the pink sheets? If I do buy it there, would I be able to swap it over the the Canadian side of my account with out any issues?

Q: Greetings - Considering the impressive returns from the energy sector last year, the leadership of the sector so far this year, the current supply demand scenario for oil , the likelihood of greater US production, geopolitical realities, and what we might see in the next 3 to 6 months (insofar as there is any clarity that far out) 1. Is energy a 5 or 6 year investment or more likely a shorter term trade. 2. Does it seem to you that the oil price is more likely to continue to climb throughout the next 6 months rather than to recede. 3.Which 3 of these 8 listed securities offers the best upside and which 3 the least risk and thirdly if you had to pick just one to buy a full position of today which one of the eight would you personally click the buy button on and would you be comfortable doing so at the current price.
Thank you for the input - Ken

Q: A few weeks ago I asked about the virtues of owning XLE vs XEG. I ended up buying 5 postions in the following: TOU, KEL, WCP, ARX, TVE. Energy is now 3.5% of my overall portfolio.

My question is the following: for US exposure: may you please provide me your highest conviction name. If you had to chose between this US energy name an DIS for a total return in the next twelve months, which of the two would you side with?

Also, for the next twelve months, what portfolio allocation to energy would you deem optimal, given the current macro environnement?

Thank you and please deduct credits as you see fit.

Q: It's time that I trim my above portfolio of 13 oil & gas stocks to sector weighting. Which 6 stocks do you think should be first to be trimmed? Please list the stocks in order from the first to be sold to the sixth. This is for medium risk profile. Also could you list a short reason why you think it should go for each of the six stocks.

Thanks

Q: Despite the significant increase in Energy stocks, I am looking to add some exposure. Do you see more upside in 2022 and beyond? Please rank the companies above for a 2-5 year hold.

Q: Prior to the above companies announcing 3rd. quarter earnings you indicated that bir probably had the most upside. Now that they have all reported is your view still the same. I hold all of the above, but feel free to recommend other companies in the oil and gas sector. Thanks for excellent service. Ken

Q: Thank you for your prompt and your customary excellent answer to my earlier question!

Q: 1. May I then request you to give me a concentrated collection of small/midcaps energy stocks that you think will be comparable to an ETF? say ZJO?

Q 2: Big and mid to big caps that are comparable to XEG?

I will leave the number of stock selection to your discretion.

Many thanks.
