Q: The rumour today is that Trump's team is about to announce their first trade deal. It sounds to me like England. Assuming that more of these follow and perhaps increase in frequency, sentiment will change and I personally expect a risk-on environment.

Please list the 10 equities from the US and Canada (in any sector) that you project will move most aggressively over a 3 month period in an environment where trade deals are the daily news and not negative bluster. Note, I am not asking you to asses the probability of deals, just the 10 companies that are poised to benefit most in terms of share price. Note that these can be risky companies but if they are, please state that and explain why the upside makes up for the risk.

Please take an extra credit and state whether each suggestion is a short term trade or a long term hold.

Q: In a recent response to another member you mentioned "IBKR is almost twice the size of HOOD ($99B vs. $56B market cap, respectively)".

I ended up looking into IBKR and HOOD a bit more and discovered this about IBKR:

Depending on the data platform, some list the IBKR market cap as ~$25B and others list it as ~$99B. This has to do with whether you consider both public and private shareholders counts when calculating market cap.

I learned that GAAP handles this where the non controlling interests are removed from the income statement ("less net income attributable to non-controlling interests" which was $2.652B for 2024 leaving $765B Net Income) to leave only the net income attributable to IBKR public share holders. The bigger chunk goes to IBG Holdings controlled solely by Thomas Peterffy.

Based on this I believe IBKR is half the size of HOOD, at least the portion that common shareholders attribute earnings too.

How do you think about companies structured like this?

Q: I've held XYZ in a reg account for a while now awaiting a recovery (down 50%) that never seems to take hold. I have to imagine there are much better opportunities, particularly in the US tech space. What would be some suggestions for replacement I could explore. I've had my eye on FOUR for a while, thoughts on this one as well would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much.

Q: Hi !

Graceful if you would provide your views on IBKR now.

Its price has now doubled in less than a year and it seems to have positive momentum.

Would you let that particular winner run or add to it or reduce ?

Which are, in order, your favorites for growth in that sector ? And, what about an etf ?

Gratefully,

Jacques IDS

Q: Robinhood had eleven times the usual business last night, They have 24 hour trading . 80,000,000 Americans trade Bitcoin in some way according to Trump and Harris and this is why they backed it. Think of all the votes . Betting on Elections will become a World Wide Event .

24 hour trading 7 days a week will soon be in .

Robinhood will benefit from all this .

I think HOOD is a great Buy. Your comments please RAK

Q: How would you rank these for adding to my TFSA today? They have all been beaten up, but are good stocks. Thanks as always!

Q: These 7 losers are a 3% drain on my otherwise successful portfolio. They currently make up about 3% of portfolio total. Are any worth keeping for med to long term or should I put that money to better use? I’m not asking for details on each just if any jump out as possible big winners. Thanks.
