Q: What do you suggest doing with SLW? I am overweighted in it and it is down 50% from what I paid and still dropping daily. I am aware of the tax issue. I keep thinking I will sell it when it goes up some, but it doesnt seem to go up! I dont need the cash now, but I hate to see it tanking daily! Thanks for your response.

Q: Hello 5i!
I have a full position in SLW. Do you still consider SLW one of the better names to hold in the precious metals space? Please suggest a few other names as well. I am a long term investor, well diversified portfolio, and can handle risk.
Thanks!

Q: Hello 5i, I triggered some gains earlier this year, and am considering potential tax loss selling targets. The pool contains SLW, HWO, GEI and QCOM (all in a non-reg acct). I have read your questions archive concerning these companies. I have what I believe is a nicely-diversified portfolio and do not need the proceeds but am cognizant of the opportunity cost of stagnant money being tied up. The 3 sectors represented in the 4 companies have had some rough times and nobody knows when the sky will clear. SLW has the lowest div of the 4. Do you folks have any points one should consider when prioritizing which one/ones to sell(putting the names in a hat is a fair answer IMO). Thank you in advance.
Q: Your opinion on SLW. I am down approx 25% in 3 months. Is the recent Revenue Canada investigation weighting in, or is it something else.
Q: The stock has been going in one direction since Feb and I am now down over 30%. With silver being down only 10% since SLW peak in Feb I can attribute stock decline to tax related issues only...? Should I just cut my losses and sell? Do you see any upside potential in short-mid term (1-2 years)?
Q: HI, I hold this stock in two portfolios should I be a seller due to these allegations it seems to be in a downward spiral. Bob
Q: I currently hold SLW and G each at 2.5 % of my well diversified portfolio. Would you be comfortable now increasing one or the other or both to 4 or 5 % for income and some growth. I am under water 12 and 13 % in each. I also hold First Quantum. Many thanks!
Q: Hi..Can you please provide your thoughts on the latest results, and the impact of the dividend cut. Thanks.
Q: Since mid 2013 SLW has bounced several times between $20 and $30. I bought it at $20 with the intention of selling at $30, and held on only to land back down at $20. It is approaching $30 again, and I am yet again hesitating over the sell button (not a trader!). Do you see anything different in the stock that might push it up over $30 this time?
Q: I know 5i isn't about the charts or predicting price movements, but the chart of Silver Wheaton SLW from April 2013 to today is shockingly symmetrical. I'm no expert on charts but one would think there's something meaningful in the pattern. The question is, "What happens to the pattern from here?" If the symmetry continues, and looking at a two year chart, the stock is setting up for huge burst to the upside. Any thoughts?
Q: Yesterday there was an article in the National Post authored by Peter entitled Five New Things an Investor should try. In the article owning gold bullion was discussed as a hedge. I have several questions:
-Could silver bullion be substituted even though it is somewhat more volatile? If so could you also use a royalty streamer such as SLW be utilized?
-Instead of hedging with gold bullion could one use a streamer such as Franco Nevada?
- Finally do you believe gold has established bottom or do you believe that there is still sufficient risk to wait until a recovery is more certain? I've been waiting to buy for a number of months now as the price fluctuates between $1150 and $1240/oz.
Thanks
Mike

Q: Hello team, I'm looking to get some precious metal exposure while the prices are low. I know you like both G, and SLW, but if you could only pick one what would you lean towards?
thanks
thanks
Q: dear 5i team: i am currently down 12.87% on slw that was at a 5% weight in my portfolio would you consider taking a loss now and taking a position in xgd under the 10 dollar level? would this be very prudent? thank you. larry
Q: what is the reason you have SLW in your income portfolio.
It has a small dividend and shows no capital appreciation,
Thanks

Q: Silver Wheaton is a big part of the Income Portfolio. I do not currently own any shares. Is now a good time to start a position?
Thanks for all the great advice. Greg

Q: Your view on SLW.TO, Silver Wheaton after their q-report yesterday. Looks like their earnings EPS were down, revenue down ... do you see a correction coming on SLW.TO ?
Q: Silver Wheaton is often reported as a cyclical stock, and looking at the year chart it certainly appears that way. It's getting up toward its 52 week high again - is it a good idea to sell and wait for a pullback?
Q: Now that the London silver fix is finished, how do you think that affects silver prices going forward? Some US newsletters see a rising silver market. Would Silver Wheaton (SLW) be a good way to play it ,or do you have some other ideas?
Thanks,
Philip
Thanks,

Q: is slw a good buy
Q: SLW - with continuous drop and volatile stock price ., is this is good candidate for a conservative / income portfolio. Is there a better or smooth ride way to achieve similar objective as SLW, is supposed to do. Thanks
