Q: LNR has started acting better. Aside from portfolio weighting considerations, what are the main concerns here? I see a stock that is trading under book value and could move significantly whenever the sector becomes more compelling. Given a long time horizon do you think adding is warranted? Thank-you as always.

Q: Can you comment on their latest results. Aside from the miss on EPS , are they really that bad to warrant the reaction in the market ? Thanks, Joe
Q: So what do we do with Linamar. Do we hold it or sell? I had assumed with the agreement on trade between USA and Canada that the stock would be a good company to own. Not so it seems. Any idea why? Is it a concern that we are nearing the end of the automobile cycle and earnings will start to trend down? There is a thought that we are in the last inning for companies such as Magna and Linamar . Do you concur? Anyway the stock seems to be unloved, not sure why . Perhaps you can shed some light on this. How do you see earnings over the next 2 years?
Q: Even after today's move, Linamar trades at 6.2 times 2019 earnings. It's growing at around 8-10 percent per year, with a good balance sheet and proven management. It is very cyclical and a recession is likely on the way one of these years, but this valuation seems silly. Am I wrong?

Q: Given developments in the nafta trade negotiations, would you agree this is a good time to take a position in all 3 stocks? If your answer is yes, how much max portfolio percentege would allocate for these stocks? Which one is your favorite for most upside short term?
Q: Today Rose Ambrose ,who is involved in the NAFTA talks, indicated that unless Canada compromises Trump will impose the 25% auto tariffs on September 1, 2018.
So how can Canada negotiate/compromise if our negotiators are not invited to participate in the negotiations between the Mexicans and the Americans.
Since very little time is left between now and September 1, 2018 and since Canada is sidelined, is it fair to assume that Trump’s 25% auto tariffs will be implemented?
What is your opinion?

Q: I have listed a few comapnies that I believe are in the, let's call it "Tariff Penalty Box". My thinking is as follows:
1) They have already been hurt by the threat of tariffs.
2) If the tariffs do not come, they will 'pop'.
3) If the tariffs do come, they will also move up as the clarity of actual tariffs should ease concerns compared to the threat of nebullous, potential tariffs.
Does this seem reasonable to you? And do you agree that these four should all be on this list and are there others you would add to it?
Thank-you very much.

Q: I know you like Magna but with the pullback of linamar would you consider starting a position as well. both look like solid companies.
Q: I have both of these in my TFSA and am considering selling LNR and buying more PPL. LNR has tanked 16% since I bought it and PPL is up a little and has good dividends. I’m looking for dividend income and some growth over the next 5 years. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. TIA
Q: These auto parts companies are down a lot. What is your advice about buy , hold or sell for each of them. Thank you.
Q: Good day team, with LNR testing 52 week lows, is it time to start a position or is more downside likely. I know MG is the better of the two but for value picking I'm thinking LNR
Q: LNR HAS DROPPED FROM NEAR $80 TO THE LOW
$60 OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHS. WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE? SELL OR HOLD?

Q: I notice that MG is doing much better than LNR right now.
Would you choose LNR for growth over MG or is there to much uncertainty with the US trade situation to consider either.
Thanks for the great service

Q: Hello Peter and the team,
Linamar's price has fallen a lot since the earning release. What is the company's outlook next 1-2 years? Is it a good time to buy a partial position? If yes, is it better in TFSA or taxable account?
If you see the same question, please disregard the 1st one. I posted the same question this afternoon, but I couldn't find it.
Thanks.
