Q: I have Richard's packaging in my portfolio the past 3 yrs.....Its a Very reliable stock, pays a good dividend. Great for my portfolio. I can put this stock in a drawer and not worry about the day to day price fluctuations.....

Can you provide at least one or two sleep at night stocks like RPI.UN I can stash away in my portfolio.......Can be either U.S or Canadian.

Q: I am a fan of renewable energy and have positions in the following - NPI - 4%, BEP.UN - 3% and INE - 3%. I would like to add to either BEP or INE to bring one of them up to 4%.
What would your preference be for a long term holding considering dividend safety and dividend growth as well as capital appreciation over the long term - 5 years +?
When I look at BEP on Morningstar I see a long term debt / equity ratio of 2.3. INE shows the same ratio at 7. Revenue growth at INE seems better. Is INE's debt level a concern?

This Utility - Electric Power stock has actually seen estimates rise over the past month for the current fiscal year by about 57.1%. Could you please choose from the above list (or any additions of your choice) the stocks that you feel would be best suited to be held in an income/dividend non registered account for a long period of time. It would be great if you could also guide me as to whether I should do equal weight or if it is better to invest by a percentage of one company over another. I am interested in trying to have the highest return of dividends but I do not want to reach too far for it (ie 50% KWH.UN). If I could get a blended 6% annually over 10+ years that would be super. Not all the companies need to be included. I know there are some that overlap sectors.

Q: Hi peter I rode the bns pony for the last five years .
I am not comfortable with there latest addition and how it was financed .i can afford the tax gain this year so it is time to move on .
Question what blue chip would you suggest for a long term hold with modest growth and dividend .

Q: Hi guys I held these 2 companies for along while and both seem to be in a state of suspended animation .and I have been slightly underwater on both.
The div is good and grew on both but the cap loss is bothersome and the lack of interest by the market is constant.
Would you move on and look for more growth opportunities

Q: Rising interest rates have definitely put downward pressure on bond-proxy types of companies i.e. those that pay dividends. I am an investor who believes that those companies that pay dividends and have the ability to raise those dividends consistently over time tend to outperform. I would like to purchase 6 such companies for the income portion of my portfolio, and would appreciate the names of your favorite companies that pay, and have a history of increasing, their dividends.

Q: On April 19 I asked a question about renewal power and you offered bep.un as a likely candidate. My question was more along the lines of, if I am going to move from pipelines towards renewal power in my utilities sector allocations, are aqn and bep.un too similar to have a good representation. I suppose they are no more similar than, say, enbridge and transcanda would be in the same sector. But, would be interested in your take on this question in regard to constructing a renewable energies component under the utilities sector.
