Q: Retired, dividend-income investor. I have monies dedicated to top up reasonably full positions held in BCE, FTS, LIFE, NWC, PLC, TRP. Ignore asset allocation. In what order would you deploy monies, based on total return over the next few years?

Thanks...Steve

Q: You have an updated report on Enbridge (ENB) dated 24 January. In the SUMMARY section of that report I see the words "bond proxy". That's an interesting concept. I own a full allocation of ENB because it is a safe, stable source of tax-advantaged income - indeed a sort of "bond proxy". Staying with that idea, are there other equities/ETFs/products that 5i would consider to be "bond proxies"?
Can you suggest a few?

Would a close look at your Income Portfolio provide a selection of appropriate names?

Tax-advantaged income is preferred over interest-producing products.

Thank you,
IslandJohn

Q: Good morning 5i,
I enjoyed reading your latest market report on the potential for decreasing inflation, and am thinking of tweaking some sector realignment to capture this possibility.
I have had a good 2-3 year run with RSI but their earning do not look good so am planning on selling this. Will then redeploy funds into utilities which are underweight currently. Does this approach make sense for an income investor?

Q: For my wife's Cash account. Ignore asset allocation...I already own all of these and have some top-up monies available and assigned towards each of these 4 = BNS, FTS, NRGI, NWC.

I have designated monies to invest/month over the next 3 months (I am roughly half way into my re-investment strategy).

In terms of upside potential, what order would you buy these? My thoughts => NRGI, then BNS, then FTS, then finally NWC.

Thanks...Steve

Q: Merry Christmas everyone and thank you for a wonderful service! I'm looking to purchase six different companies that have preferred shares and would like you to help me pick them. Security of dividend and safety of the companies (staying power) is the top priority here. Therefore if two preferred picks are in the same sector I don't mind as I'm not sure how much diversity matters here.

I currently own TRI and CSU preferred shares and would also like your opinion on them, thanks.

Q: This is my selection of stocks for steady revenue (and secondarily potential growth) .Since a serious economic crisis is not excluded in my opinion ,I now plan to : 1) only keep Cies at low risk to become out of business and that should maintain dividends, based on their history and financial strength , and to : 2) sell the other stocks to buy ETF instead..

Wich stocks can be "relatively safely" kept at long term for this purpose ?

Q: Are any of these worth buying now, especially before a potential recession: CU-T, CPX-T, EMA-T, ENB-T, FTS-T, TRP-T and DGRO-A?
Thank you. Ron L

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,

Would you consider Algonquin to essentially be an income stock in the near term? Having held it for some time now, and always 'hoping' for better results, we now find ourselves underwater. (Too bad we didn't sell yesterday!!) In the Utilities sector, we also hold BEP.UN (terrific gain, CPX (also underwater), and FTS (nice moderate gain). Once the dust settles, and we’re able to sell AQN, which of our other Utilities would you suggest to put the proceeds, or is there perhaps another Utility you’d recommend? Thanks as always for your timely advice.

Q: Can you please rank the above utilities for Value. I used EV/EBITA data from Yahoo Finance and got this: NPI (8), BIP.UN (11), FTS (12.7), BLX (13), BEP.UN (15), NEE (26), AQN (28)
Thanks!

Q: I've been building out a sub portfolio in my registered account with the above stocks. It's hard to turn down 5-7% yields + growth potential.

Do you perceive any major crossover/risk with the holding all of the above / should I consider consolidating?

Q: Hello

Want to sell GOOG and AMZN in my cash account for the tax loss.

Replace them with FTS, PPL and ZEB. for dividend and safety.

Your comments thank you.
