Q: What is the outlook for commodities? Is there a one-stop diversified commodity ETF in CAD or USD? If not can you suggest a small basket of ETFs that would cover this asset class? Thank-you.

Q: Hi Peter,
If you owned the BE portfolio but wanted to add to and diversify the commodity holdings (beyond AEM and SU), what 1-3 securities would you add? Canadian stocks and ETFs only, please.
Thank you!
Chris

Q: What do you think of the Bloomberg commodity index going back to 2005, very big move off of the low. Commodity Cycles are very long lived are they not? Can go on for many years. They have been outperforming Global Equities for awhile now, do you see this continuing for the next 5 years?
What would your best way to participate in this shift.?
Thanks! Gord

Q: I need to add fixed income to my portfolio. I do not believe the inflation we are heading for will be transitory. Given that assumption, are there ETF's you can suggest that will react best to inflation? And how would they do with the inevitable higher interest rates? Thank you.
Q: With commodities expected to benefit as we come out of this Covid induced lockdown, Is there one or two commodity ETFs that you afre comfortable recommending?

Q: There are quite a few commodity ETFs (e.g., PDBC, DBC, GSG, FTGC, DJP, COMT, BCI, USCI, GCC, RJI, COMB, COM; listed in descending order of assets held; minimum US$100,000,000). Although I own resource stocks (SU, CVE, TOU, NTR, AEM, FNV, XGD, PAAS), I don’t have commodity exposure per se. I am interested in buying one (or two) commodity ETFs within my RSP. Since I already own oil and precious metal stocks, I would prefer an ETF that includes commodities beyond just oil/gold/silver (although some exposure to these commodities within the ETF is of course okay). And I don’t want extra paperwork like a K-1 form (although I don’t think this applies to an RSP, not sure). Can you suggest one or two commodity ETFs based on these parameters, and what would be the basis for your recommendation(s)? Do you think some commodity exposure (~1% of total portfolio) is reasonable in case higher inflation is looming?

Q: I have roughly equal positions in the above and am thinking of selling GSG, which is doing ok but no dividend, and increasing my positions in NTR and LUN. Your thoughts, please? Any downside to this? Is the upside of the dividend worth it? Thanks

Q: In a previous answer you suggested GSG for commodities exposure but when I read the entity description I cannot understand what it actually does. I respect your suggestions and would appreciate an explanation of how GSG works. Thanks. Also, any other ETF suggestions for commodities exposure that is a little more understandable for an old timer like myself. All the best

Q: Good morning - I was reading an interesting GS report which is calling for a structural bull market for commodities, starting in 2021. Let's say GS is correct. Assuming that, what would you suggest for a Canadian investor, both at home and in the US. Also, is there an ETF or two that you would suggest to address this assumed trend. Finally, do you think GS is on or off target here?
Thanks

Q: Hi, could please recommend some TSX listed ETFs or stocks (excluding individual oil and gas stocks) that would benefit from the type of commodity super cycle that Goldman and others are forecasting. Thanks
Q: Would like to do one-stop shopping, of a broad based, multinational commodity fund.
Two or three funds if need be.
I already have lots of oil and fertilizer exposure.
Either USD or CDN.
Thanks
