Q: Our IT portfolio target is 15%, of which V and GIB account for 8% and MSFT and CSU for 3%. As for the balance, willing to accept more volatility. Themes I am interested in include digital currency [PYPL?], e-commerce [LSPD?], and security/ cloud [ OKTA?] or any other names you prefer. Thx

Q: Hello 5i,
I currently hold these stocks in an unregistered account. I have journaled over the five companies into a US account for the dividend. I would like to add possibly two more companies that pay their dividend in US funds. I have the rest of the balanced fund and some growth in my TFSA. Any suggestions to add here, and if it results in duplication, what would you remove from the list. I am well balanced and would likely have to sell at least one current stock and could just add the other if you can give me two. Was looking at Nutrien or AQN. Didn’t pull the trigger on AQN last year at 12.5.
Thanks for the assist.

Q: Can you offer your best 5 ideas for a TFSA.
Q: If you could choose only one company between CSU or MSFT, which would you recommend for a long term hold. I am leaning towards MSFT.

Q: Good morning 5i
These two stocks are over the percentage limit in my portfolio. I am thinking about lightening up on one of these. Thought I would ask for your input. I notice in the most recent comments on google you say that you see no reason to sell and that you have a very positive view of it. Broker recommendations seem to have higher expectations for google and hold recommendations for csu at the moment. I am learning towards selling csu. There are no other considerations other which might be the best to hold and the best to sell, at this moment.
Thanks as always for the great service

Q: My earlier question on buybacks was which 5i portfolio companies are most active in buybacks and which take no part among all the portfolios?
The 5i response listed 5 of 8 that do buybacks, but I don't know to what degree or if the 5 are the only ones that do. If I'm not mistaken CSU has never done a buyback, are there others?

Q: With the world feeling a little uneasy about a pending recession, I want to keep only holdings that will weather a downturn. I'm not trying to time the market, and want to hold stocks, that while they may dip, have good balance sheets, good management, and will likely see a recovery. Others I will sell and hold the cash. Above are my current holdings. Do you see any that may be susceptible to excessive weakness in a recession and would therefore meet my sell criterion? Thanks,
Kim

Q: When I look at the latest Q&A from Feb. of 2019 on the CSU website Mark Leonard makes reference that it is difficult to find acquisition companies like CSU that have high ROIC but when Leonard did a screen for CSUs board he was able to find 6 companies out of 4000 with ROIC comparable to CSU. Any ideas how to screen for these companies or what companies Mr. Leonard might be talking about? Thx

Q: Looking at the BE portfolio, which are the 4-5 companies with the best balanced sheets?
Q: Which one of these should I choose if I need both stability and growth?
Q: Hi guys,

Q: Do we have any idea of the succession plan for Mark Leonard, brains behind CSU? All I can determine is he is 35 years into his career, with nearly 25 at Constellation.
If nothing has been addressed can we expect something in future?

Q: Hi 5i: Constellation Software seems to buy small but excellent software businesses endlessly. Does it ever sell any of them? Thanks!
Q: comments please on the latest quarter? Thx
Q: Hello. In monitoring my equity investments, I note that SHOP is now 8.3% of my total stock portfoliio while CSU has reached 7.5% of that same total. My question is whether it is too risky to let these run -- or trim them back now. Thanks!

Q: I have gains that account for two 8% positions in my TFSA in both CGI Group and Restaurant Brands. I was thinking of selling either CGI Group or Restaurant Brands and replacing that one position with three smaller positions in Constellation Software, Enbridge and Brookfield Infrastructure.
Would this be a move you endorse to increase dividend income and eps growth potential, and if so which of CGI Group or Restaurant Brands would you sell?
Thanks.
John

Q: Hi, Could you please post the earning estimates for the quarterly results expected later this week. Thanks
Q: Constellation Software now exceeds 10% of our total accounts because it has and keeps doing well. What would a reasonable reduction be, say down to 7%.? Given we are only 2-3 years requirement what stocks would you recommend as a replacement? We own Open Text and Kinaxis already. Thank you, Bill
