Q: Hi,
I have approx 10% weight in these in a long term RRSP following your porfolios(Only 1% WN as spin off)
I have about $!0,000 to add. What are your thoughts?
Add to a few laggards or add new?

Q: I had a half position in Loblaws before the Weston spinout, so now I have a tiny position in Wn. I'd welcome your thoughts as to how best to proceed. Do I dump Wn and build L to a full position or fill out Wn to a second half position?

(Supplemental info: If you looked at my full portfolio, you would likely say I am rather long on banks and utilities and short on consumer stocks, though I do have some ATD.b and ADW.a. However, I am about to retire, so I am keen on fairly reliable dividends.)

Q: I need to increase my holdings of Consumer staples. Please rank the following in order of your preference when the main focus is dividend growth with secondary goal of capital appreciation.
ATD, L, MRU, SAP, WN, EMP.A, MFI, BCB, PBH, PJC.A

I can be patient in the timing of my purchases. Do you think this is a good time in the economic cycle tp purchase this sector?

Many Thanks

Paul

Q: I am down about 10% in my holdings of Loblaws. I would like to crystallize the capital loss to offset capital gains. Would you suggest a switch to George Weston for a holding period of 5 years or more, or would you suggest sitting on the sidelines for 30 days and buying back into Loblaws.
Thanks
David

Q: WN: this stock has been doing down a fair bit over the last little while & I was wondering why? Is it to do with their large purchase of a US baker or what? I would like to buy for the long term and have been watching it ready to buy at some point for a good price-I'd love to see a further drop before buying to $75 or so.
