Q: I have the following 4 companies in a conservative, "steady-eddy" portfolio: T, SPB, SLF, and BNS.
I have cash to add two more Canadian companies. What would you recommend in order to add some diversification to the above 4 but to maintain a conservative portfolio?
Thanks,

Q: Comments on recent quarters from Telus and Magna. thx
Q: Which of the three would be better to own in terms of safety, as well as income and some growth? If it were one of the US telcoms I would hold it in my RRSP.

Q: If purchased in US $ on a US exchange, do these companies pay their dividends in US$ Take as many credits as necessary.
Q: Which of the big three telecom companies would be best for further investment as this point - BCE, Rogers or Telus?
Q: Telus is basically flat from one year ago (even including the dividend), and has compared poorly over that period to BCE and Rogers. For a long term hold in a non-registered account, do you still like it? (I already have a full position in BCE, and wouldn't go near Rogers, so if you're not keen on its prospects I'll probably look to a different sector.) Thanks!
Q: I sold RCI.B yesterday, after its big drop, and bought Telus. T is gone this morning after it took a big drop. Now my only telcom stock is a 5% weighting in BCE, with a 38% gain. Can you recommend another telcom or should I quit while I'm ahead? Thanks
Q: Hi 5I: I want to select 2 of Telus, BCE or Rogers as long term holds for a DRIP account. Which two would you pick? Would you hold them in equal amounts? Thanks for your help.
Q: If a young person 26 years old wanted to start a DRIP which stock would you recommend for this?
Thanks

Q: Everyone I know under 30 is basically a TV cord-cutter or a cord-never (sp?). I know that all three of the telecoms have had significant investments in the TV / cable, and I'm concerned that longer term, TV will go the way of the landline. Is this a valid concern, and should I be getting out of the telecom industry? I currently hold Telus (T) and it has done very little for me in the last 12 months.
Q: Please comment on recent earnings. Market seems a bit unhappy with them.
Q: Good Morning, I'm working at rebalancing our TFSA's. I've sold BIN and with this years money have enough cash for 4 or 5 new positions. I'm at around 16% info tech, 33% industrial, 6% finance, 6% energy, 14% consumer disc., 9% health care and 14% real estate. You can see I'm completely missing some sectors that I assume offer less growth. Would you recommend I add some telecom, utilities or materials in my TFSA's? considering I hold some of those in other investments? If not, how much would you add to each of the other sectors? and which would be your top two choices in each? Thanks for the great service. Rod
Q: For Canadian Telecoms now, would you favour BCE or Telus - and why? Thanks so much.
Q: Hi,
I am considering purchasing Telus as a long-term hold for a combination of rising dividends and capital gains. From the previous questions and the fact that it is in the balanced portfolio, I see that you like Telus. On BNN, some of the analysts are worried about Telus due to its Western exposure, given low oil prices as well as other factors that may cause a further slowdown in the economy of Western Canada (Such as Provincial and Federal carbon taxes, etc..). Do you think that this concern is exaggerated, or is it a serious concern that you may factored into your assessment of Telus? Also, for how long do you think that Telus can continue increasing dividends yearly, or twice a year?
Thanks,
IF

Q: Hi, I'm sitting at about 4% BCE and 2% Telus of my total portfolio. I'd like to add a bit to Telus but I'm concerned I'm already at a full weight for telecoms. Can I add some more and, if so, how much? Thank you.
Q: Hello 5i Team,
I am looking to add to the dividend growth portion of my portfolio and want to increase my positions in both Telus and Agrium to full positions (5-6% weightings). Would you recommend waiting to add or would you be comfortable adding at todays prices for a long term hold?
Thanks again for the great service,
Keith

Q: Am I correct in interpreting Mr Entwhistle's purchase of $10m of Telus shares as a large expression of confidence in the Company and as good news for Telus shareholders?
Can you speculate as to where the funds to make this purchase might have come from -- cash holdings (re)deployed, or would he have likely sold other holdings? It would really be interesting to know what, if anything, was sold to finance this purchase.
Thanks.
And may all of you at 5i, and all your members out there, enjoy all the blessings and peace of this holiday season.

Q: Thought I was cute buying some at $42 once the dividend rose above 4%. Pretty much brought my telecom weighting up to 5% of my portfolio (I also hold BCE with a fairly small amount of VOD and VZ). Kicking myself for not holding off on my original purchase of Telus. One of my best investments was buying BCE when it got pummeled due to the income trust changes a few years ago. Wondering if this is a similar opportunity to add more Telus?
Q: Nearly 6% pull back today alone. Is this the Shaw purchase? Does this seem a little drastic?
