Q: Are you still happy with T? I have held it since August 14, 2014. Since then it has increased by 24.5%, according to StockCharts Perf Chart, while RCI/B has increased 34.4% and BCE by 32.4%. Do you recommend a switch at this point? Can you explain why or why not?

Thank you.
Best wishes for a very Merry Christmas.

Q: I would like your opinion of rogers and shaw.Would you buy either both or neither? Would either one be a take over target? Thanx Robbie
Q: If you had to choose only one of BCE, Telus or RCI.B for a long term hold for a senior person which one would you choose and why? Would you be a buyer at current prices?

Q: Hi
I have a half position in the above 3 Rogers B, Thomson R, and high liner, all are on the uptrend
I am a conservative investor holding stocks that pay me a dividend while I wait
how would you rank the above 3 stocks in terms of value and safety
and which one would you like to see me adding to ?
I have BCE in my portfolio as income as well.
thanks
Michael

Q: I have some money that I will be putting into an RESP for my children: while it is roughly 0.5%-0.75% of my actual total investment portfolio, I would prefer to avoid more volatile companies in this particular account. I do have a long time horizon (about 6 years before I start to have any demand for the money), but have been burnt before in this particular portfolio by trying to "hit a home run" with an investment play, and am looking for slow, steady growth.
I have listed three companies above, with ATD.B as my first pick as I only have roughly a 2% overall exposure (between all of my collective accounts) to the Consumer Staples group (I assume that ATD.B would be under Staples rather than Discretionary). If you would recommend something else in this space, or another sector, rather than the companies I have mentioned, I would be most grateful for the suggestion. In any event, I look forward to your thoughts. Thanks so much!

Q: HI 5i
Rogers as gone up considerably this year. Is this really deserved or is it just momentum from bluejays. I have considerable gains, bought in around 42 $. I am wondering if I should sell to capture some gains , (lots of losses from energy to balance out tax issues.)
any basic rules of thumb to consider on "when to sell" ?
thanks
Ernie

Q: I understand from the revised CRTC ruling announced yesterday that these changes will impact BCE unfavourably according to a wireless analyst on BNN this AM. Could I possibly have your opinion please. Thank you Phyl in BC
Q: I also saw the movement by AYA stock on Tuesday and it was strange. There was high volume on the stock for most of the day, but in the last 30-60 seconds it went from 31 to 29.70 in the blink of an eye. I actually had 29.85 ready to go for the last 5 minutes and when it started dropping I hit submit. An error popped up and I hit submit anyway and to my surprise, it actually got through (It was still open when I went to bed that night). I've never seen a stock drop that fast before.
Somewhat off topic, sorry about that.
I know you guys prefer T and BCE in telecom, but I'm wondering if you think Rogers (RCI.B) is getting any better with the recent drop?
Thanks, Paul

Q: What is your opinion on this company for potential growth as well as maintaining it dividend?
Q: Nice move upwards today.
I need to sell some shares in my RRSP to pay tax bills and I had this one earmarked for the chop. Now I'm wondering if I should hold on for a bit.
The trouble is that whenever I hang on for a further rise after an encouraging increase, the price seems to fall to where it was before.
Was there any news in particular that sparked the rise?

Q: These 4 telecommunication stocks represent 13% of my income portfolio: BCE (4%), MBT (2%), RCI.B (3%), T (4%).
I know you aren't a big fan of RCI.B, but I emotionally feel like I deserve to get something back from Rogers in the form of dividends since I fall out of my chair every month when I see what my household spends with them (cell phones,internet,cable..etc). Wrong approach?
Am I too overweight in this sector? Current sector weighting:
Consumer 3%
Banks 19%
Insurance 11%
Utilities 7%
Telecom 13%
Precious Metals 5%
Energy 15%
REIT 13%
Industrial 10%
XEI ETF 4%
I love this Q&A portion of your site. Thanks

Q: Iwas wondering what you thought of Rogers RCI.B ,as it is near low for last 12 months, would you consider this a good buying opportunity?
Q: As the new management at Rogers Cable continues to sort things out do you have an opinion on the plan for their large position in CGO and CCA?

Q: Going forward, and all things considered, if you had to sell one of these three...RCI.B or T or BCE
Which one would it be and why?
Thank you for your great service

Q: RCI.B is down 3% today on a lowering of estimates by Credit Suisse. I'm not interested in growth, only safety of capital and income. The yield is about 4.3%. Is now a time for a 5% position? I don't have T but will buy BCE on a correction resulting in owning 5% each in BCE and T. Would a 2.5% position in each be better? How about 5% in BCE and no RCI? Thanks.
Q: Hello team,
Sometimes, I like to look at charts to see how a company is doing in the absence of any news. Rogers Communications' (RCI.B)chart is showing a rounded top which suggests that the company's shares are about to head south. Do you see anything on your Bloomberg terminal that suggests the company is experiencing difficulties. What do you think are its prospects for the near future?

Q: RCI.B signed big deal with NHL which is suppose to EPS right away. Of all the telcos has by far the lowest FPE but a fair bit of debt. Would you buy for long term-income and growth??
Q: Could you please comment on what may have caused RCI.B s pullback.whatisyouropinion of this stock and what do you consider to be the best in this space. Thanks
