In reviewing our combined family TFSA portfolio, I’ve determined that we hold too much XST with its 0.61% MER. How would you rank the following stocks, which are all the constituents of XST? ATD.B, L, MRU, WN, SAP, EMP.A, PBH, PRMW, MFI, NWC, JWEL, VFF, and SOY.

Should I pay attention to the TMX ratings where WN, MFI, and VFF are considered strong buys? Only NWC was ranked as hold and all the others were moderate buys.

In your opinion, in what order could two or three of these constituents be purchased and are they buyable today?

Q: It seems to me that going forward inflation worries are real. Assuming my thesis is correct, I have read that one way for investors to protect their portfolios is to buy companies with "pricing power". What exactly is pricing power and can you give me a list of Canadian and American companies that currently have the most pricing power.

Q: We are often reminded that one should not try to time the market, and that it is time in the market that counts. But would you be in favour of an investor re-weighting to more defensive positions if one is worried there is a "correction" on the horizon, for example if the Delta variant explodes Covid numbers, there is a gov't policy or interest rate change, an external shock with China, etc, ?
