Q: In January you suggested a portfolio for 2025 could look like the one noted below. I’m 90% invested. position size is a high of 5% (full position) and 2.5% (half position) depending on my perception of size/risk. Based on the current climate, I lowered Nvidia is down to 3.5% - anything you would modify today? 5i - a mix of quality Cdn. and US stocks, with a lean to growth: GOOG, NVDA, VRT, CLBT, AXON, JPM, RTX, CRM, NBIS, ISRG, BKNG. CSU, TRI, BN, WSP, WELL, GLXY, CLS, ENB, TD, SLF, V, BAM, COST and CRWD. Calling out I also have a 4% position in Amazon and 2% Shopify.

Q: I have decided to orientate my portfolio more towards the US, while keeping approximately 30% Canadian. I am also looking at India for my first international investment. Most of these stocks are asset light and large cap.
In the US the sectors are non bank financials, tech, and industrials. In Canada I have chosen large caps with significant non Canada revenue.
My dividend income would decrease but I can handle that. This would be an equal weight portfolio.

What do you think of this approach and of the individual stocks?
Should I just buy an SPY 500 etf for the US ?
Is FFH appropriate for India or is there an ETF you would recommend ?

Q: Hello, what is your view on RTX? It has had a return of close to 40% in the past year. Obviously, I don't expect it to continue at that pace. With tariffs possibly coming, it would affect Pratt&Whitney in Canada. I like the co but I'm debating whether to sell and protect my gain in order to rebalance my portfolio. Thanks

Considering taking a long term position in LMT but I am holding back due to potential US government cuts to defense spending.

I could see a scenario where Elon Musk/Trump administration would potentially cut back the costs of LMT's F-35 program in order to reach the administration's goal of cutting a trillion dollars in government spending. (Replace with Tesla Drones?).

F-35 program represents approx. 30% of LMT revenue. If this were the case what would this do to the share price? or is this already "baked in" to some degree?

Q: I have about 10% cash that I am considering putting in U.S. stocks. Even with our $.69 dollar, I don't see any catalysts to improve that over the next few years. I have a good diverse portfolio in both $Cdn and $US, but I am definitely lighter in US exposure.
With the uncertainty of tariffs, Canada with no real leadership for the foreseeable months ahead, the US "Drill baby drill", and Canada not seeming able to attract large international investment, is there anything left to drive growth in Canada?
I am retired, so I want something that should be a little less volatile. I'm thinking of adding to MSFT and JPM, to bring them to a full 5% position. Is this a good idea, and if so, can you also recommend 2 other stocks for me to look at. What are your thoughts on Healthcare, stocks or ETFs, with the new administration? Q: My current portfolio is heavily oriented towards growth and is very high risk. Over the next few to several months I plan on repositioning towards a more balanced approach. I will be looking to add some growing but steady large caps. Toward that end I have the following short list: TR, BN, GOOG, Canadian Banks, SLF, MSFT, NVDA, BEPC. Is there anything in that list that you would not see fitting into that category? Can you please add a half dozen or so of your preferred other names that fit with this idea.
