Q: I managed to do well during this down market. I got out early and have put 83% in DOG, 15% in cash and have 2% in TSLA with and avg price of 189.

I am going to slowly start selling some DOG and deploying some cash. Can you recommend 3 to 5 stocks that I can start small positions in. I have a high risk tolerance and a time frame of 10 years or longer.

Thanks in advance.

Q: In light of current market actions and the now widely anticipated economic recession, I am looking for your thoughts on stocks you would buy for long term (10 plus years) and/or forever holds -- Canadian and U.S. names please. I am investing for retirement (within 5 years) but also for our heirs. We have built a portfolio of sleep at night holdings over the past 25 years and just looking to tweak the portfolio. Although we do not like to see these kinds of volatile markets, we also do not get freaked out by them. We have ample cash or near cash always in hand to combat such actions -- something you learn through experience! Thanking you in advance for your answer.

Q: Hello 5i team,
I've held a good number of stocks you hold in your BE portfolio and I've managed to obtain a 14% compound annual total return in the last 11 years.
100% of my portfolio is in equities; I'll be shortly 77 years old and plan to reduce my equity exposure to 30%, with the above stocks in mind.
Your opinion is most valuable

Q: I am in the process of helping my fiance invest her money. She has 14 000 in her TFSA. Can you suggest a mix of stocks? She still has approximately 25 years left in her job as a nurse. As she has many more years of work, she is willing to take on a high degree of risk for a 'growth portfolio.'

Regards,
Ryan

Q: Hi, Can you name a few companies say 3 Us and 3 canadian companies who have been prolific in creating value for their shareholders either by buying back shares/not increasing their share count while growing consistently. A small dividend if applicable but leaning more towards growth in earnings. Preferably with some sort of monopoly or advantage in their field. Thank you.

Q: I just become member today and trying to familiarize with your contents on website.
What portfolio should I consider for TFSA and for my RRSP. I really like your BE portfolio but there are total 25 holdings. Leaving aside portfolio consideration, what would be your opinion/suggestion for me to buy in BE today for my TFSA. If you could suggest at least 7 to 10 holdings as I have all my TFSA contribution in cash (all of my 67 K so far) in Investment account.

Q: Hi 5iR team, Many brokerage houses start each New Year by attempting to consolidate their best stock ideas for the year in a comprehensive list.....their Conviction List. I'm wondering if I may ask 51R to do the same? If I was to canvas the 5iR Staff stock experts what would the majority agree on to be your best 5 stock ideas, give or take a few, for 2020? Thanks team. Chris

Q: Dear 5i
I'm looking to add a higher growth stock in my TFSA and was wondering which of the following will do better in terms of earnings over the next 1-2 years ......CAE , WSP or BYD .
I was also debating between TEAM and NOW for the TFSA as US possibilities . I would appreciate your thoughts .
Thanks

Q: Own a bunch of the 5i favourites outside of the above. Building up cash to deploy in a TFSA. Thoughts on these for the long run and buying today? I like the CDN names as you have reports on them and it give a bit more confidence in the name. I do own KXS and was wondering if there is overlap with DSG?

Q: I initiated a position in this stock about 2 weeks ago along with 8 other names in about equal weighing. With your recent drop from the portfolio I’m okay to take a small loss and want to replace it. What are 1 or 2 stocks would you recommend for growth -

Q: hi, with respect to new BYD ticker not being updated on some portfolio tracker financial sites, I think the issue lies with the financial site's delay in adding/updating the new symbol. I use Globe Investor, where new ticker was available after 1-2 days. But,I had to record a sale of all BYD.un units and a new purchase of BYD shares, after 2 days when ticker was available. The security/ticker and holding is not replaced/updated, automatically. Hope it helps. Thanks

Q: With respect to the differences between the year end value of BYD.UN and what some brokerage firms have used, I received word from TD that they will be using the price of the shares of BYD when they received the shares not the date when the transaction occurred. TD received the shares on January 8, 2020 and they used the closing price of BYD on January 7, 2020, which was $215.77 vs. the closing price of BYD.UN of $202.00 on December 31, 2019.
