Q: Hi group 2 questions
- I was stopped out of Byd in late March since then have been waiting for pullback to get back in, unfortunately the stock just keeps going up. I am of the opinion the market is way overbought in general and my time should come or should I nibble away ? or do you have another strategy that may work. I intend to buy 1,000 shares over the next year
2 nd question I am thinking of buying Meg + Tog due to extremely low stock price Eric at Sprott has recommended them both as top picks - I respect his opinion what do you think ?...thanks

Q: Morning 5i,

As someone hoping their is a significant pull back. Seeing the overvalued stretching....

I am looking to add some diversification and growth with the "safest" possible.

My picks are;
BAM.A
BYD
REAL
OTEX
GSY
ATD.B
NTR
CNR
Is their additional ones that you can suggest or a couple swaps that are "better" overall.

Thank you for all the tireless fun!

Q: I am about to triple the size of my investment in the portfolio above and give equal weighting to all. Virtually all of this new money will be in non-registered accounts. In total, this self-directed portfolio will represent 20% of my holdings; I also have 40% in a growth-focused pension fund, and 40% in a mix of ETFs through a robo-advisor.
Do you have any suggested changes to the list of names? I am primarily focused on growth, with a 3-5 year horizon.
Do you recommend a different weighting e.g. heavier on some, lighter on others?
What are your thoughts regarding timing? I am tempted to put all of the new money in now, betting on the sustainability of the recent recovery. But I understand that a phased approach will reduce risk.
Thanks for your help.

Q: Peter, I am interested in buying into Lightspeed and Boyd Group in 2 or 3 tranches. Both companies have earnings coming up in the next couple of weeks. What are the expectations and would you be comfortable buying at these levels, or prefer waiting until after earnings? Thanks so much.

Q: Hi 5i,
Based on your input, I'm looking to stack up on Industrials, Tech, and C. Discretionary. I have a 5-10 year+ timeframe and have a huge focus on outsized YoY revenue growth / returns for my portfolio. I can tolerate a lot of volatility and risk.

1. For Canadian industrials, what would be your top growth picks? Also looking to get one aviation exposure, what would be the best one out of AC, CAE, EIF?

2. For Canadian Tech, I currently have SHOP, KXS, LSPD, REAL. As you can see I'm aiming for outsized YoY Revenue Growth. Can you suggest other names? How does PHO and STC compare with them?

3. I have BYD, DOO, and GOOS. Can you name two MUST HAVES for Consumer Discretionary/Cyclical in the US?

Please subtract credits as you find appropriate. Thanks!

Q: Hi Ryan and Peter.
The gov'ts are talking about reopening Economy soon. A lot of stocks (except for the high techs) are still 50% less than the recent highs. Which industries or companies do you think will benefit from the reopening? Can you please provide 2-3 names in the US and Canada? I would like to move some money into my TFSA.

Thank you,
Yiwen

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan and team,

How would you rank BYD, PBH, QSR and DSG for an add on in a RESP? Time frame is 8 years. Would rankings change within a TFSA?

Is it possible to buy stocks for a child who is under 18? Or would the child have to wait until 19 to own stocks.?

Please charge however among of credit for the questions.

Thanks again for your your great service!

Q: Good Morning
What companies do you recommend and see being active in this environment on acquisitions. Or do you forecast a slow down on acquiring because of all the uncertainty.

Thank you

Q: Morning:
I own equal weightings of these equities in my TFSA. I have some cash to invest, which one of these would you buy more of at their current market valuations? Looking for capital appreciation over the next 8 to 10 years. Thanks!

Q: Hi guys,

In today's environment, would you be more inclined to let these names grow a little larger than normal ie: instead of selling the stock when it grows to 7% (back to 4%) of your portfolio, let it get to 10%.
Thanks

Jim

Q: I hold 2 % weighting of this company and am a little nervous about the Covid effect going forward for IGM. I am down 30 % on it. What might be a better company, in any sector going forward to recover the 30 % ?

Q: hi folks:

understanding that byd is well run, i wonder why it has held up so well

logically it seems that they will likely be a year (possibly more) till they return to full capacity; given the volume of people that will not be driving

do they have the balance sheet to take advantage of the fire sale that surely will be coming in 'mom and pop' panel beater co's; allowing them to buy more assets at fire sale prices?

is byd just getting a bid from the safety trade as it 'appears' (ok, to me) that there is no solid reason for it to have recovered so well?

thanks
