Q: Can you please tell me your opinion of Sagicor. It is thinly traded for a company of this size. It was recommended in a Globe article as a good dividend payer with low PE, etc. There is not much forum commentary on this company within 5i, or other stock forum's for example. I would appreciate your insight. Thank you.
Q: I currently own Sagicor and I'm thinking of swapping into Trisura (which I know you like). SFC pays a 6.1% dividend while Trisura seemingly pays no dividend. Or maybe I should sell half my SFC and put those funds towards TSU ?? Is owning both advantageous ? What do you think of these ideas and can you provide some insight into the reasons for any recommendation?
Q: Checking in again to get your thoughts on Sagicor. They just reported earnings and RBC just increased the PT to $8.00 (shares currently at $4.35). Do you agree with RBC that the shares are undervalued and what are your thoughts overall on SFC (I own it mostly for the nice 7% dividend).

Q: Trying to reduce my number of stock holdings. Have identified these 11 as small positions that can be eliminated. Intending to use the cash to add to stronger holdings. I try not to think of a stock as a "hold". There are lots of high quality names you can invest in that look better than a "hold". If you were doing a portfolio clean up, and held these as roughly 1% positions, are there any that you would be reluctant to sell?

Q: If you held the following smaller cap stocks in positions of 0.5% to 1.0% of your total stock portfolio, and wanted to reduce the number of holdings by selling several of them and using the money to add to others, which ones would you sell and which ones would you add to: ACQ, ADEN, AEP, AND, CHW, CJ, DCM, ECN, GEO, HPS.A, LNF, NOA, PRL, QIPT, RCH, RET.A, SFC, STLC, SVI, TVE, WELL, XTC. Assume overall portfolio is well diversified so sectors not a consideration, and that this is the riskier part of portfolio, so, higher risk is fine. Would be great if you could pare this list of 22 stocks down to about 10-15. Thanks.
Q: Given the results just released, what are your thoughts on Sagicor. I have it mostly for the dividend but not happy about the 15% loss I've had. Any chance it gets back up around $ 6.00 anytime soon ? And do you think the dividend is "safe" ?
Q: I purchased SFC mostly for the dividend. Down about 10%. What are your thoughts on the safety of the dividend, SFC overall, and prospects for 2023 and beyond ?
Q: Please comment on the Sagicor Financial purchase of Ivari. Do the SFC warrants still exist and, if they do, do they make sense in lieu of a share purchase.
Q: After receiving your reply to my initial question on this company, I purchased a half position which has worked out well- thank you for your input. Looking to move to a full position now, after their earnings release today. Do you see anything in the release that would lead you not too buy?
Q: In your answer about financial favourites to Jacques (April 16) I assume you meant FSV and not SFC?
Q: Hi,
In reply to my question on financials today, you listed SFC. I was rather expecting SL. Could it be a typo ?
Thanks,
Jacques

Q: This company has come up on a couple of screeners that I have been running and I was wondering if you have any familiarity with it. I was surprised to see an $800 million dollar market cap. It strikes me as a possible candidate for a buyout from a company looking to expand their operations into the regions where SFC operates. In the meantime you would be able to collect a decent dividend. If you could weigh in regarding dividend safety I would appreciate it,
Thanks!
Thanks!
