Q: If you had to choose one of these stocks, which would you choose for long term hold and why?

Q: This is my selection of stocks for steady revenue (and secondarily potential growth) .Since a serious economic crisis is not excluded in my opinion ,I now plan to : 1) only keep Cies at low risk to become out of business and that should maintain dividends, based on their history and financial strength , and to : 2) sell the other stocks to buy ETF instead..

Wich stocks can be "relatively safely" kept at long term for this purpose ?

Q: Need to rebuild industrial sector holdings - assume a clean slate. What percentage to invest in each subcategory with top picks [some suggested names-please provide your 2 or 3 top picks] and target buy price would be very helpful. Q: Looking for an industrial stock to pair with WSP. CNR has lower volatility, but a higher p/e compared to TFII. I am older looking for total return close to 10%. Would welcome other suggestions. Thank you

1). Could u rank the above from most prefer to least, for a 5 yr. hold and a good growth potential with a reasonable P/E.

Q: I have a son who is 31 and is just beginning his investment journey. He currently is looking to learn and has $15,000 to invest. With the uncertainty in the market he is thinking of investing 1/3 now 1/3 in the first quarter and 1/3 in the 2nd quarter. Is 5 stocks a good start with the intention of monthly contributions in the future to build a diversified over a 20-30 year time horizon. My suggestion was a equal amount to start in Royal Bank, Telus, Brookfield Infrastructure, CN Rail and a REIT.
What do you think of this plan or do you have other suggestions.

Q: The two Canadian railway companies have out-performed CSX this year. Any explanations? Which one is a buy now? CSX seems much cheaper.

Q: I understand that the prairie farmers are having a good year with above average crop yields. This should be positive for the railways if they have sufficient capacity; particularly CP. On the other hand, if we are heading into a recession, they could suffer. Given the recent pullback what is your outlook for the railways for the short to medium term.

Q: Good Morning,

As the market gets beaten down yields on some very good companies are becoming difficult to ignore.

With a recession in sight yields could possibly get even better.

I am retired and an income investor sitting on substantial cash.

What would be your preferred course of action at this time?
