Q: Hi,
Last year around this time, you were asked to guess a few names in the US or CDN Market that had 100 bagger potential. Some of the names mentioned were WELL, TTD, LSPD, XBC, MGNI, PLTR, VEEV, PINS, KRR, & STC. Just wondering if there were any names you would add or delete from this list? I realize identifying the next 100 bagger is next to impossible, just for some fun.
Thanks

Q: Why is pypl dropping lately?
Q: Hi Team,
After the failed takeover rumour by pypl Pins is quickly at a 52week low. Do you see this as a buying opportunity in a name that continues to spark takeover interests from big names like pypl and previously Msft? I hold the stock and am currently down on the name. Average down or simply hold? Or ….is it time to sell? Thanks
Shane

Q: I am down on these stocks EGLX (-24%), AT (-28%), BRAG (-24%) and PINS (-23%).
These stocks are in a non-registered account.
I have two questions. First, are these stocks worth holding for a turnaround or just take the loss (and take advantage of the tax loss credit) and move on?
Second, if they are worth holding I might do a tax loss sell and buy after 30 days. I am not sure how to time that. Do it now or at the end of the year?
Thank you for your help and advice as always.

Q: PYPL just stated that it is not pursuing an acquisition of PINS at this time Please note "at this time" Please comment & should we hold on to Pins. On Oct 22 Pins stated it will report Q3 on Nov 4. Txs for u usual great services & views

- Snap Inc. Class A (SNAP)
- Pinterest Inc. Class A (PINS)
Q: Hi 5i,
Back to PINS and PYPL again. Given SNAP’s lower earnings and Apple’s new privacy settings making it more difficult for advertisers on SNAP, would you expect PINS’ upcoming earnings to show a similar problem? If so, would PYPL have signed some form of NDA with PINS so that they would have knowledge of PINS’ upcoming earnings and any Apple privacy impacts?
Thanks again.

Q: Not sure of the rationale for PayPal buying PINS. A $45 billion price tag seems like a lot considering they could of done a partnership instead. A merger that lacks strategic vision is a great way to destroy shareholder value…just ask Time Warner/AOL. Although it is preliminary what are your thoughts? As a long term PayPal shareholder should I sell and buy Square to hold for the next five years? There are no tax or risk considerations just a straight swap to change horses.
Q: Dear 5i
I suspect paypal is declining of late due to the potential PINS deal . Should i continue to hold it or is there reason to sell ?Do you expect it will bounce back ?
Also CROX has been strong the past few years . In an otherwise balanced portfolio would it be a good addition either in a TFSA , cash account or RRSP account ? What growth rates is CROX expecting over the next 2-3 years ?
Thanks
Bill C

Q: Hi 5i,
What are your thoughts on the rumoured, from several sources, PYPL bid for PINS at around $70 a share? It seems like a lowball bid. Not much of a premium and not even close to taking out the yearly high of PINS. On what metric would you evaluate this bid and how does it compare to peer group acquisitions in the past couple of years? How do you see this playing out in the market? Other potential bidders?
Thanks again.

Q: when does this company report and what are the expected numbers? also with another part of management bailing out, co founder leaving, could this be in anticipation of some bad results pending? thanks....

- Cerence Inc. (CRNC)
- Palantir Technologies Inc. Class A (PLTR)
- Unity Software Inc. (U)
- Airbnb Inc. (ABNB)
- Blue Foundry Bancorp (BLFY)
Q: Hello team,
I am up 40% on CAE, which I don't think is going any farther until planes are back in the sky in a meaningful way. Would you agree?
If you more or less agree, I am thinking of selling CAE and put the proceeds to one or two of the followings ordered base on my losses in each. The original investment is almost the same amount in each stock with the exception of BLFY which was 1/2 of others:
U (+7%)
Appl (-1%)
ABNB (-5%)
PLTR (-6%)
CRNC (-23%)
BLFY (-40%)
PINS (-28%)
Would you average down or would you sit tight? I know you don't like averaging down in general, but I thought I would ask as sometimes there are better growth opportunities and it does make sense to build up a larger position.
Thanks for the help!

Q: Hi Team,
I am holding the following stocks at a loss. BABA (-52%), MED (-30%), TT(-4%),EGLX (-33%), MG (-8%), SWKS (-20%), U (-1%), PINS (-33%).
My question is, should I continue to hold the line with all of these? Or are there any that stand out to you as being better off to sell and swap out with a different holding of which you suggest? Or any of these I should be selling, and adding to another one of these? I thought perhaps after yesterdays sell off there might be some moves I should be making. (Although the market is already recovering nicely today on alot of these names). Suggestions here would be appreciated. Thanks!
Shane.
