Q: I have a small USA portfolio consisting of these darlings which I've held for approx. 3 yrs. It's like watching a snail race. Can you recommend a replacement or two for each? I've done OK with SYK and was in good shape with Vertex until last October. Take as many Q credits as needed.

Q: I am interested in investing in Health Care Robotics. I am looking at Stryker and Medtronic. I am leaning toward MDT due to lower entry point and higher dividend. Based on history and statistics which one would you favour? Could you suggest similar companies for consideration?
Thank You
Jane

Q: Hi Peter and Staff

FInally bite the bullet on Sienna, looking to redeploy in the US topping up some or all of my US basket of health care. Please eliminate any of the above that you do not feel are a buy at this time and rank the rest within categories of strong buy, buy or hold.
Thanks for all you do

Q: I'm also looking for some exposure to Healthcare. Not many options in Canada. I use to own Medtronic, Abbott and United Health. Are those good places to start in the U.S? Can you rank them in order of preference? Any others that seem appealing? I'd like to stay away from the stocks surrounding the vaccine since they seem speculative at the moment.

Thanks,
Jason

Q: Hi Peter,
My rationale for buying Becton Dickinson (joint replacements) still makes sense to me, and I understand that these types of surgeries are down now, but looking forward should surge. That said, it has performed very poorly over recent months and Stryker, which I understand to be a similar company, has done quite well. Can you explain the divergence? Would you suggest I hang onto (or even add to BDX) or should I admit that I picked the wrong stock and would be better switching to SYK. Thank you!

Q: My portfolio is a little out of balance when it comes to healthcare stocks.

I am considering: WELL.CA, VEEV.US, GH:US, SYK.US, BIIB.US, ABBV:US, AMGN:US. (I already own IHI and BAX)
Are there others that you would add to the list?
Is there an ETF that you would recommend?
Could you please rank the above stocks with regards to 3-5 year hold?
I sold my position in GUD about a year ago.

Thanks!!

Q: These are the US holdings in my RSP. All have done well except for SYK down about 8% with a limited outlook for the rest of 2020 based on the Covid pandemic. Regardless of sector weighting, what are your favorite 2 or 3 US equities for growth over the next 5 years? I'm okay with a moderate risk.
Thanks in advance,
Greg.

Q: Given the current environment, which do you foresee having a good recovery from today's lows. How would you rank these companies listed to purchase today to deploy some cash. Which would you rank this list for risk from high to low. (not considering sector allocation.
Do you have any other recommendations outside of this list that you think might have more potential?

Q: I have a large capital gain on Boyd for the 2020 tax year which I am considering offsetting by taking Capital losses which I have on the above mentioned stocks, including BYD. What is the best way to do this? Sell and wait 30 days to re-buy? Sell now and buy proxies (what would they be?)? I’m also considering using stop losses to take advantage of any increase in stock prices I might otherwise miss. Would appreciate you comments and advice. Michael

Q: With the possible exception of MDT or ISRG, some of the US listed medical stocks remain down near their lows while other names have rallied hard. I am interested in the companies above and wonder if you can tell me if each would be a buy for you at current levels? Again each are down a lot, have favourable analyst ratings but haven't bounced much. Are there any on this list you DO NOT like?

Q: Hi, I've held ISRG for a few years now, am up 25% but was honestly expecting more. It's traded largely sideways since Sept of 2018. 5i and I both seem to have similar (great) expectations for this company, but they just can't break $620 or so.

I'm tempted to dump ISRG and pick up some IHI which includes a number of other seemingly great companies that are on my watch list. However, I keep thinking ISRG is on the brink of its next big leg up. From my research, I have ISRG at the bottom of its long term channel - which if it holds - would have stock price growth at 40% from here...

Help me decide: hold (even add) to ISRG, or dump it and pick up IHI. Perhaps a bit of column A and column B?
