Q: Good Afternoon
Can you recommend 3 stocks in Canada and the US that are good momentum plays? Also are there any ETF’s that track this that you can recommend?
Thank you

Q: Hello Peter,
In addition to my core portfolio built around the 5i Balanced, I have a margin borrowed portfolio that started with the idea of swing trades but has become the size of the core one as I stayed with the momentum. It is built on 3 pillars. Tech growth – (ZM, CRWD, VEEV, AVLR, LSPD, PHO, XLNX, ROKU), precious metals – (AEM, FNV, PAAS, MMX, WDO, KRR) and yield stocks -(ABBV, CU, CPX, ENB, PPL, FSZ) that help pay the interest. Two others not classified are DXCM and Visa. None of these started out as a long term holding for more than a year, but am willing to hold on in the current low interest environment. In fact, am willing to borrow more if opportunity shows up. Have my eye on NVDA, ADBE and TTD.
In case of heightened volatility which of the 3 pillars would you focus on holding and any suggestions on which ones would you exit sequentially?
Look forward to your suggestions. Thank you for your advice in advance.
Regards.

Q: I'm going to sell my ET position very soon. I would like to put the proceeds into one of the following three: LSPD, REAL or WELL. How would you order them in terms of risk? How would you order them in terms of most potential?

Best,
Don

Q: I’m considering adding to my SHOP and KXS positions and initiating LSPD and CJT positions. I’m in no hurry and would like to purchase shares that have gone on sale(lol). I’d appreciate your commentary on the likelihood of the impact of two events in our immediate future and their impact on prices. My concerns involve: (1) the coming of winter and the impact on LSPD as restaurants shutter, potentially for good and (2) the impact of the US election if the result is dragged out for weeks in an ugly transition of power. I have no problem buying today, and I know you don’t recommend timing the market as there is always something to worry about, but it seems foolhardy to not consider the impact of events staring us in the face. Thanks for the guidance.

Q: In the technology sector with the increase in prices of each holding I have gone overweight. I have previously reduced weighting. Have taken profits in each of the above. Could you suggest from first to last which you would be more app to sell either all , some or none
DSG up 25%, KXS up 16%, LSPB up 38%,REAL up 15% , SHOP up 7 %
I’ve been rebalancing my portfolio as per tracking and analysis. Last piece of the puzzle.

Q: Hello Peter,
Is the symbol for GR silver mining GRSL as opposed to what you have on your database? Also, what do you think about the company? I was expecting Lightspeed to surge with listing in US but it has not gained any momentum.. Any thoughts. Lastly, is the opportunity cost too high to hold onto Knight. I still own about 3 percent of my portfolio in Knight (reduced from 5 percent). Do you think it is worth reducing for now? From the holdings i have, Knight has performed very poorly. Thanks very much.

Q: I am negative on subject three U.S. companies (FSLY, TWLO, ISRG) While these companies may be good growth companies if held long enough, I would appreciate your suggestions of several U.S. and Canadian companies that are likely to have more near term growth, any market segment and I have much risk tolerance. Thanks.

Q: Every morning I read all news that occurred overnight on the companies that I own. I then move to articles about the sector news about each company and then to the world geo political news. Almost everyday I read an article in Yahoo news about LSPD. Recently my thoughts have turned to a conflict of interest between the companies, especially small to mid cap stocks, and the news organizations that produce the articles. It is almost entirely the same information twisted a little. Is there a conflict of interest between the two organizations, News organizations and the companies? Or are the news organizations just want the clicks to their platform for advertising stats? I assume the company does not object because they are positive articles and any positive article is a benefit.
Appreciate your thoughts.

Q: Good morning 5i,

Looking to add two names to my portfolio, with the only criteria being a combination of balance and growth, and with a long-term horizon. Currently thinking of GSY and REAL/LSPD, are you good with these at today’s levels? Listed some others I’m interested in too. Any other of your favourites you’d consider (already own KXS, WELL). Thanks.

Q: I have been looking to take a position in Lightspeed for some time now, when it was in the $24 range, but it went up too fast too soon. with the current 15% drop and the IPO coming up, would you suggest I buy now, wait until the pricing is announced or until the issue is completed? Do you expect much volatility particularly to the upside in the interim?
Regards
Rajiv
