Q: Hello, I need to liquidate some of the stocks listed. Disregarding sector diversification, in what order should I do this? Thanks for your help.

Q: My son hold these tech stocks and really need to start to invest in US tech stocks as all his holdings are in Canada. He would need to sell some of these holdings to get cash so he could convert to US dollars and then buy 2 US stocks. Which stocks would you sell first and can you provide 2 US that are similar to the stocks that he would sell. He has a RRSP account so no capital gains to worry about. He has 20 years before needing to withdraw.
Thanks

Q: What do the short positions look like on these stocks? Do you see any stocks with possible "unfair" levels of shorting?

Thanks as always.

Q: I have money ($30K) to reinvest in my TFSA. I am heavily overweight in technology (28.5%) and overweight in consumer cyclicals (13%) in my overall portfolio. My wife and I own the above stocks in our TFSA. Could you give me your best 3-5 suggestions for addition(s), avoiding high risk companies? Thanks for the great service.

Q: I would appreciate your comments of the latest acquisition, Vend.
“Vend generated revenue of approximately $34 million and GTV3 of more than $7 billion in the trailing twelve month period ending December 31st, 2020. Lightspeed will acquire Vend for total estimated consideration of approximately $350 million, satisfied by way of payment on closing of approximately $192.5 million in cash and the issuance of subordinate voting shares in the capital of Lightspeed valued at approximately $157.5 million. The deal, which is subject to customary closing conditions and post-closing working capital adjustment, is expected to close towards the end of April, subject to the receipt of applicable regulatory approvals.”
As always - many thanks.

Q: Hello
Thinking of retiring and drawing the dividends from our RRSP to replace income from employment until age 71.
Would it make sense to sell the first 4 mentioned and buy only EQL.
This move would give us $5,000. more yearly income from dividends (before taxes).
I mentioned selling VIG because of the currency variability and EQL pays a higher dividend..
We would still maintain growth ETFs like IWO, ICLN, KWEB, PSCH etc.
Thank you for your time.
Mike

Q: With the recent 10% correction in technology stocks, do you think it is a good time to buy. Would appreciate your recommendation of 3 Canadian and 3 US stocks to buy. I am looking for growth and can take risk. Thanks

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan and Team,

Sorry if this as been asked before but I am wondering what your top 3 growth companies would be irrespective of sector on both the U.S. and Canadian side? (So 3 U.S. and 3 Canadian) to take a position in on this pull-back?

Thanks for all you folks do, very appreciated.

Q: Hello,
2 part question regarding the above companies for a 30 year old investor with a 10+ year hold horizon:

1. In a TFSA account I currently own BNS and BUS. Would you swap these 2 out for LSPD, KXS and DND today? If so, would you please rank the 5 companies in order of preference in a TFSA account?

2. I have some cash to deploy in my RRSP account. I was wondering if you could also rank the following companies to buy today once again for a 30 year old with a minimum holding period of 10 years: BAM, BIP.UN, BIPC (in case you think that one is better than the other in an RRSP), BNS, XIU and VEQT. I would be able to purchase 3 of the 6 mentioned so what would be your preferred mix in this case?

Thanks for your help!

Q: Hi 5i team,

Any thoughts on how far this trend of selling tech or renewables will continue? Looks like NASDAQ is now negative ytd with many of your Canadian techs down 20+ percent ytd.

When would you seriously start putting floor bids on the favs like CSU, KXS, LSPD, WELL, REAL, SCR, and XBC? If you could put in dollar amts for each it would also be great.

Thx

Q: The markets have been very nasty to some favorites in the past week or so. Can you recommend one or two companies or funds that you think have really been hit unrealistically hard? Your opinion would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Q: I currently hold STC, CSU, SHOP, KXS and OTEX as tech in a well-diversified portfolio. I am thinking of selling OTEX in order to get more long term growth. I want to maintain my diversification in tech but also don't want to add on significantly more risk. I was thinking of adding one of LSPD, CRWD or U.

You have mentioned in the past LSPD and SHOP could be seen as similar. I could use a US-based investment so does it boil down to CRWD or U? Or, given my parameters, just stay the course or is there another equity you think may fit better?

Appreciate the insight.

Q: Good Morning 5i,
A number of stocks such as GSY, SHOP, and LSPD seem to have been long time 5i favorites identified early-on that have done quite well to-date and appear to have a lot of room left to run.
Finding 'the next' is why a lot of us are here. Regardless of industry, is there a company or two that might not be favorites yet but are on your 'watch list'.
(Also understanding that nothing is guaranteed. If it was easy to identify 'the next' then we'd all be sipping drinks on the beach right now)
