Q: hi 5i. I usually like to sell in times like these, to lock in the capital loss. I pair trade immediately after the sell, to stay invested, usually. the list is of my losers right now. are there any on the list you would not sell now and pair trade? and, can you provide a recommendation for each for another stock to pair trade with ( I am thinking hut8 for hive, perhaps nuvei for something? dsg for something? or maybe one name can replace 1 or more of the names. I would then most likely buy back the stocks I sold after the month of waiting is over, to lock in the losses. your thoughts/expertise is always appreciated. cheers, chris

Q: Further to Neil's question on May 9, can you list some tech/growth stocks that are looking good at current prices? I would like to start nibbling away with the understanding prices could go lower but with the 30% decline in Nasdaq from high, we must be getting close to the bottom here. Thanks

Q: It's really hard to sit on my hands during this type of market but I am(so far). My question is about stocks that I have held that are now only 0.5% positions(at, lspd, eglx, well) and I am also down quite a bit on several others. I don't think I own any (weeds) but .5%-1% position sizes won't contribute much on a rebound. Do I consolidate here or revisited in a few months.

Thanks again.

Q: Good day team,

I know that you always suggest trading/buying into positive momentum but if you were to choose some stocks (regardless of sectors), on both the CDN and US sides, what would they be? As we are all aware, there is a lot of red out there in certain sectors.

Q: Hi, Within less than 9 months these stocks have lost between 55 % to 90% of their value. LSPD took the hardest hit, with TOI, the least in this group. All these companies have been market darlings since their IPO's and still continue to be 5i favourites. We own all these names across all family accounts. Based on your recent comments, these stocks also have very high potential of a strong bounce back, once market sentiment towards Technology sector improves. Question: If these companies continue to execute against their respective business models, and Tech/Growth stocks slowly regain favour with investors - Based on some multiple expansion, what would be a reasonable price range expectation over 3-5 years time frame for each stock and how would you rate them, in order, as best placed or likelihood of accomplishing this. Thank You

Q: Of the 5 stocks listed in this question, do you see today as being a good time to purchase/ add to any of these names? And what order would you rank them, if buying today. Or, are there better ideas out there today that you would prefer? Thanks

Shane.

Q: Ever since I started investing roughly ten years ago, I've always enjoyed trying to identify companies that could become acquisition targets. Could you please name five companies (TSX only) that you believe have a high likelihood of being acquired or taken private in this current environment? Thank You

Q: Hello 5I,
I am down 50% on the above stocks. They are in taxable accounts but it’s not completely necessary for me to take losses necessary. I want to stay invested but am I just better to stay in these names or switch to something else? Basically are these good names to just stay in when things turn positive or do you highly recommend other names?
Thanks

Q: Given the current market sell-off, could you please give me three growth stocks and three value stocks that you believe are seriously oversold and "on sale" at current levels. Would appreciate a line or two on why you are choosing these stocks.
Thanks!

Q: Based on your reply to Paul on May 9th...."We think buying over a year will end up looking pretty good in two or three years". Of the following Companies that make up my portfolio what would be your TOP 3 conviction names to ADD to over the next year based on long term growth potential, good valuation, well run, good management, no brainer this will be a good investment type choice. There is opportunity here so don't want to miss the boat. Yes everything is down. Yes people are panicking. But it will go back up and simply want to focus my energy on the ones with more conviction. I don't need the money for the next 15-20 yrs but don't want to be a moron either and be happy with a bit of dividend here and there when I could see larger returns by making a good decision today. Thanks again.

Q: After taking a profit from an oil company you suggested last year (thank you!), I am looking to re-invest (outside of the commodity sectors) accepting higher risk for return. It's a registered account with 10 years before the money is needed. Of the companies listed which would you expect to have the most growth over 10 years?

Q: When the price of oil tanked, a few fund managers pounded the table. Now that tech is sputtering significantly, do you see multiples of today's prices in the next 18 months?
Specifically, Nvidia, Lightspeed, Topics, Shopify, Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, etc.
Is now the time or once the gut-wrenching war subsides or would you stay away?
Thanks.

Q: We have new money to invest and would like to use it to correct our only significant sector weighting imbalance, which is in technology. The sector is currently represented by CSU, DSG, KXS and SHOP, where all but CSU are down.

5i has often stressed the importance of both maintaining target sector weights and not leaving too much cash idle. Now we find ourselves with the technology sector struggling and would like some guidance on how to proceed.

For the existing positions, which are long term holds, would you be inclined to spread out the additional investments over the medium term, say the next 6-12 months, or would you tend to be more aggressive, investing in the shorter term?

How would you rate (1-10) CSU, DSG, KXS and SHOP for additional money today?

If we were to initiate long term positions in TOI, TIXT, NVEI and LSPD today, how would you rate them?

Once again, a big thanks to you all at 5i! We've just renewed our membership after a first year. We only wish we'd known of your service earlier!
