Q: Hi Peter and 5iresearch team
I don't have any exposure to materials. I have XBM and LIT on my list.
1. Is now a good time to start investing in materials?
2. Would you consider other ETFs/stocks (US or CAD) that must be held as a first step investing in materials?
Thank you

Q: Eastman just had their earnings a few days ago. What do you think of the stock? Are there better opportunities in the sector, CDN or US? I have a small position in my RRSP, and was thinking of adding to it.

Thank you for all you do.

Q: Hello, from looking at the long-term chart of Sherwin-Williams, it appears that this a compounder stock with a good underlying business. Since you last commented in January, the stock has had a bit of a pullback. Any updates on your broad thoughts around valuation and prospects for the for the near-to-mid term (1-2 years), and whether you like this name?

Q: Hi - it's been a while since I've seen comments on SHW so wanted to know your current thoughts as it approaches its earnings release in a couple of weeks. Does it seem to be a bit pricey based on it's historical valuations? Do you have any concerns about this qtr and their possible upcoming commentary? Is it a price taker or setter. Bottom line...any concerns in near term and especially since market seems to be in mode for beating down high multiple stocks. Thanks as always

Q: My portfolio analysis suggests I am underweight in Basic Materials, Consumer Cyclicals, Utilities and Healthcare. I have USD to invest as I am also underweight in the US. Could you give me your 2 best suggestions for overall return (not high-risk) in each of these sectors individually as well as a group. I would also like to know if there are Canadian companies more attractive than your US suggestions in the same sector. Thank you for your help over the years

Q: Hi 5i
Currently considering SHW for 1/2 position and a 2 year hold. Its down slightly off its high and offers small dividend.
What is your current opinion on this company going forward and would you consider taking a position at current price? Why /why not?
Would you consider the announced upcoming 3 for 1 stock split as potential catalyst?
Thx
Jim

Q: Hi, Can you name a few companies say 3 Us and 3 canadian companies who have been prolific in creating value for their shareholders either by buying back shares/not increasing their share count while growing consistently. A small dividend if applicable but leaning more towards growth in earnings. Preferably with some sort of monopoly or advantage in their field. Thank you.

Q: Hello Peter and the 5I team

I am using SHERWIN-WILLIAMS CO as an example. I like to use ROE as one of the main numbers I look at before I buy a stock, is there a point when a high ROE is a concern. SHW has a ROE of 145 ( according to my RBC banking brokerage info) is this too high? At what level do red flags come up and what causes extremely high ROE. What statistics do you look at and could you rank them for their importance in your check list.

Thanks
