Q: Hello ,I became familiar with various US ETF in different styles ,they represent now 70% of my RRSP US portfolio .I know that the risk is "supposingly" higher with stocks .I own 7 high quality US large Cies stocks that perform well.I wish to invest in some more US individual dividend stocks that you would consider at low risk , enough to hopefully avoid considering selling them in the future.Could you name and rank,if possible 7 US stocks that would meet those criterias..thanks to your excellent team J-Y

Q: In January, you compared FFH to BN/BAM, saying, "If rates fall it may be able to make more deals, AND, its assets owned already may increase in value further." Do you still hold to this glass-half-full outlook, or should we be concerned that the (dominant) insurance side of FFH's business will be penalized for a lowered outlook?

Q: Hi, Could you please provide your opinion on Progressive Corp. P&C Insurance sector seems to be doing well and stock is making new highs ( Noted that IFC is your favourite in Canada). How is the valuation compared to its competitors? Company released its premiums business for the month of January, yesterday, which sounded encouraging, sending stock to another high. Do you think that current level is good to start a position ? Thanks

Q: Hello 5i Team

I am reviewing US listed Property and Casualty Insurance companies for the US dollar portion of my RRSP account (in order to receive dividends without US withholding tax).

I understand Brookfield Reinsurance Ltd (BNRE) is a Bermuda based corporation and is not subject to withholding taxes in an RRSP.

Questions:

1 – Is BNRE a suitable candidate?

2 – Please list other US listed P&C insurance companies for consideration in order of preference.

Thank you

Q: 5 eyes - why is the bid 10% less than the ask on this US insurer? If I want to sell shares (I don't actually) then do I take a 10% haircut? David Fingold's fav insurer - which would you buy between PGR and Chubb and secondly would you recommend a buy at this time of a US insurer generally? Delighted as always - Ken

Q: I would like to combine JPM with two new other US positions in a US$ portfolio to achieve a good mix in the financial sector. Wondering what your thoughts are about adding an investment company like SCHB or AMTD or is there another entity that you suggest?....and also an insurance company that you would suggest that would benefit from rising US interest rates? (I currently hold SLF in a Cdn$ portfolio.)....Thanks
