Q: Motorola has had a terrific run. It’s up 46% year to date. They are not just manufacturing communication systems but are heavily into quality security systems for commercial and residential use. There hasn’t been much chatter about this quality stock on 5i.
I think it’s a gem with lots of room for growth. What are your thoughts?
Q: I am overweight both of these names. I am hoping for a recovery pop at which time I will seek to sell down a bit and spread the money out. Can you please give me a few other names that you might suggest for growth at this time? I sold booking holdings at a loss so please exclude that name. I am too afraid to buy back smci due to its wild volatility. I was consider coherent, Motorola, and Monolithic Power but am open to other suggestions. Thank you.
Q: Both of these companies are trending in the right direction. I can only afford to buy one from this sector. Which one would you recommend for greater growth in the next 3-5 years. Thnks
Q: Hi - with an (unfortunate) increase in military spending going forward, is MSI a likely beneficiary of such spending? Any other factors that you like or dislike about the company and its prospects for the coming year or so?
Q: Would you consider msi a buy right now in part because of the Avigilon acquisition ? I see where AVO has a significant new presence in downtown Vancouver. Do you know if this is or has been replicated in other Canadian and USA cities?
Thanks.
Q: Hi 5i
I intended on holding (PUR and AVO) for the long term but cannot due to their being taken over by XYL and MSI. These acquisitions will mean a cash infusion and I'm wondering whether a purchase of the acquiring companies is sensible. What is your opinion of these US companies (it is understood that they are not your focus but I respect and appreciate your opinion)
Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Run up in price has caused dividend yield to drop to about 4.5%. Does this company have growth in the horizon or if bought is it only for the dividend?
Thanks for all you
Dennis
Q: I have held for over two years: this year the stock has declined a fair bit. Further to this: last Q was brutal, high debt and pay-out ratio. Perhaps it is time to bail. They, I believe, have a good USA presence now which should be helping with the high USD? This one is not looking very good to me right now.
Q: I purchased this stock 5 months ago, and it has dropped 12 % since then. The dividend still is attractive. Do you know of any news that might account for the decline?
Q: Good Morning All,
I've been watching MSI for quite awhile and was wondering if now was
a good entry point, what do you think? Many thanks to all, Bob.
Q: Your view as to whether this is a good buy, especially in comparison to the other companies in similar business at current prices of your favourites?
thanks for all you do

Q: Hello Peter & Co,
In my TFSA account, I have allocated $20k in tranches of $5k to invest and the rest is in an easily accessible account Premium savings PSA ETF. I have already invested in FRU (Royalties) and DHX (Media) and thinking of investing in ET (Technology) and Morneau Sheppell MSI (Human Resources). I'm not trying to hit the ball out of the park in terms of returns and, by the same token, have a good diversification.
Thanks as always,
Tony
Could you give me your insight with regards to Morneau Shepell? The company reported recently and I felt good about their results. Is there anythingn in particular I should keep a close eye on when invested with a company like this?
