Q: Can you recommend 5 US Healthcare stocks.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Hi there,
This stock has not recovered at all and seems to be heading down further. I have owned for a long time but this trading pattern seems a bit unusual. Is there some news i have missed. From what i can tell from the last quarters report, all of its business lines are expected to continue growing for the next 3+ years.
Thoughts?

Q: Hello, Medtronic the medical device company is down by more than 6% today only (down by 12% in the last month). Is there something we should know about. Thanks, Gervais
Q: Hello, in your response to Arzoo's question regarding international holdings better held in RRSP, you say that generally International companies in an RRSP will not have dividend withholding taxes. I have MDT in my RRSP, and there is a withholding taxes of 20%. I have phoned my online broker about this, and they told me that if a company's main address is outside of Canada / USA (Medtronic is based in Dublin, Ireland) then there will be a 20% taxes. And this even if the company trades on the NYSE. They told me that the RRSP tax treaty between Canada and the US applys only to US domiciliated companies. Do you agree with that? Thanks, Gervais
- AbbVie Inc. (ABBV)
- Becton Dickinson and Company (BDX)
- Medtronic plc. (MDT)
- Stryker Corporation (SYK)
Q: Hi Team, sold my shares of RHT this morning. Transferring remaining capital from sale to US RRSP for another healthcare name. Someone on T.V last night was screaming Medtronic for a buy ,from my own readings and research I see Stryker as a good choice. Between the 2 which has a better growth profile. Which would you choose. I own ABBV and BDX for a total healthcare exposure of 17%. I Thank-you in advance! Like usual,......Great work team! Sam
- Gilead Sciences Inc. (GILD)
- AbbVie Inc. (ABBV)
- Johnson & Johnson (JNJ)
- Medtronic plc. (MDT)
- Pfizer Inc. (PFE)
Q: Recently, 5i has supported members' suggestions to switch out of JNJ into something else given the legal difficulties that JNJ faces. I generally like to hold indefinitely; given this anticipated time frame, and my preference for safety and a good/growing dividend, do you think I should switch as well? Do you view the alternatives I've listed as less or more risky than JNJ overall? Are there non-pharmaceutical alternatives in the US healthcare space that would provide an equally secure and growing dividend that you would recommend? Thank you.
- Gilead Sciences Inc. (GILD)
- Micron Technology Inc. (MU)
- JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM)
- Medtronic plc. (MDT)
Q: Can you suggest some undervalued USA stocks one might want to look at picking up this week for short term profits?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: MDT seems to be a bit of a rollercoaster but has a new valve device. What do you think of this company compared some other big device companies likes Stryker and are some device makers safe from Amazon's newest venture?
Q: Which of these two US healthcare stocks would you prefer for growth potential for a moderate to high risk investor?
Q: Hi All at 5i!!! I know that you don't follow Us stocks BUT...if you had to choose one of the following for a long term hold, which would it be ? Cheers, Tamara...PS. I really hope you will create a Us stock portfolio....just saying....😁😁😁
Q: Why these good stocks are going down What is your opinion about these stocks?.Thank you.Ebrahim
Q: Hello Folks:
In reading your answers to previous questions on GILD you recommend the company for it's strong cash position and low valuation, but recommend having the patience of a 2 year outlook. I have owned GILD for several years and not done very well as of late. Being I am 70 yrs. old should I hang in with GILD or move into another health related company? I have a full position with Johnson & Johnson, but am unaware of other very good health care options. I am not a frequent trader, tending to hold mostly American blue-chip companies, and welcome your advice...I greatly appreciate your good service!

Q: Hi, What ever happened to MDT? It dropped a lot today. Still a good company?
Q: I have a question about these medical devices/technology companies.Given an aging demographic, including Mr.Trump, that requires their devices, can you explain the drop in their share prices since the election?
Q: Thanks for all the great work and insights you provide.
I would like to buy both of these. I only have enough cash for a full position for one currently. Which would you recommend at this time?

Q: Hi Peter & team: Greetings! with reference to Tamara's question regarding who will be next US president, I hold the 3 US stock with total of some 10% gain (that is all I have in US$ and it is about 4% of my portfolio) should I hold or sell? Some money managers still recommend it. SIS I have some 30% gain and it is only less than 2% of my portfolio and you still favour it, should I take some profit? Honestly taking profit is difficult as it increases my total income and I may face a clawback of OAS. Please feel free to take my credit points as I have lots of it! Thank you.
Q: The last question on MDT was asked in Jan, 2016, and you were favourable at that point. Do you still think it is a good prospect? What about Vodaphone? Both were top pics on BNN today.
Q: Hi Peter and Team
Medtronic had some interesting price action yesterday and moved up to an all time. What do you think of this stock now? Also, what would be your picks in the health care sector right now?
Thanks so much!

Q: Good Morning 5i.
