Q: Hi there,
looking for an addition for my us portfolio - am a bit of a value investor. Each of these stocks seem to be struggling of late but appear to be good long term investments. All with a bit of dividend and good growth prospects. If you had to choose one ( regardless of sector) which would it be here.
Cheers

Q: Sorry for bothering you about an American company but I stumped on this one . I have wanted to buy Macdonalds but when I check their revenue it has been slipping steady over the last five years (yahoo finance and bmo charts showing this) at the same time their net earnings have been climbing. Can't pull the trigger on a stock that has declining earnings but some analysts say their same store sales are increasing which does't equal overall revenue declining unless they are closing some stores. What am I missing? If you don't feel it is an appropriate question no problem.

Q: Thank you for your terrific website. I need to add funds for my U.S. non registered account. I presently have IWD, DVY and SPY.
How would you compare the performance and outlook for the above funds? 5 year minimal hold.

Q: Yesterday on Market Call Tonight Ross Healy basically panned McDonalds, as far too expensive, saying not only would he not recommend it as an investment, but he wouldn't even recommend it for gamblers, that it could damage your portfolio. I'm a little confused. McDonald's strikes me as a low beta stock which is reasonably conservative and doing well. It doesn't appear to me to be hugely overpriced or a risky investment. What is your take?

Q: Hi, you had a comment on AT&T late July and I was wondering, with recent weakness, what the fundamentals look like for this company now. Do you see long term value here? If you think this is a stock with limited prospects going forward, do you have another US income stock (any sector) that might make for a better replacement? Many thanks. Michael

Q: I am a conservative investor who would appreciate your recommendations as to the best 5 US stocks/ETFs to own over the next 2-3 years. Dividends are not necessary, however preference is for low risk stock recommendations.

Q: Good Morning,

I'm looking to add a few more US stocks to my portfolio. I'm adequately represented in tech and financial sectors. Could you give me 4 or 5 names in other sectors where above average growth might be expected.

Thanks for your help,

Dennis

Q: Good Afternoon,
I don't follow the US market that closely, I'm looking for a handful of safer blue chip dividend payers ? Such as AT&T , perhaps you can list a few other names in various sectors you feel are well managed companies with good yield.
Thank-you

Q: Greetings 5i,

I sock away a bit of cash for the summer months as i find there is always a few opportunities to pick up a good companies at a discount. I limit this to a small portion of my portfolio but would like your recommendations on your top 5 CDn (growth) and 5 top US Dividend Payers (need US income) that you would pick up on a dip or low volume during the summer months? Last August was a great example of picking up really good names at a discount. I realize there are no guarantees that we will see the same market but always on the lookout to pick good long term names to add to my portfolio. In the past i have picked up Visa, JPM this way.

Thanks for your advice.

Q: Good morning,
Could you suggest a company that would replace P.G. in my portfolio. I have held P.G. for 7 years, bought in at 60 and watched it go to 90, now back to 72. I am starting to think there is a problem with this company.
Thank you,
Dorthy

Q: My average cost 62.50 and I am down quite a bit since the last quarterly report. Reading through your comments on this stock, you feel that the stock has lost its momentum. The company reports next on April 30. Do you see any reversal in the next 6 - 12, should one continue to hold or should one just sell now and replace it with a better choice. Regardless, if I should decide to sell now, could you suggest a couple of US replacements with some growth prospects that have positive momentum. (I was thinking of businesses like Visa or Mcdonalds or something you may consider more appropriate with similar moats). This security is being held in my wife's RRSP and she also holds: AT&T, MSFT, FB, MS, AMTD, JNJ & MO. I am more interested in preservation as my wife will have to begin withdrawing in a couple of years.

Thanks,
Joseph

Q: Hello Folks
What are your feelings re: holding on to both Kraft Heinz and Starbucks, which are both struggling with their own issues. Would you consider McDonalds a decent bet/ replacement at present as it has been taking positive steps, but is expensive. Do you have other suggestions in this sector?
Thanks for your good work
