Q: Great and timely article yesterday on this "Phoenix market". With that in mind, which companies in the US manufacturing, health care, energy and technology industries would you be comfortable putting money into today with a 10 plus year hold with a medium/high risk tolerance? Are there any US names that you think should be full positions in the majority of such portfolios? Please feel free to deduct as many question credits as you deem appropriate.

Q: Great article today re the "Phoenix Market". With that in mind, could you please suggest a US stock or two in each major industry sector that you feel is well positioned for growth in the next 5-10 years that you would nevertheless be comfortable stepping into today? (Even if just half a position) Please feel free to deduct the number of credits you deem appropriate.

Q: According to Portfolio Analytics, I'm underweight in Industrial, Consumer Defensive, Utilities and Energy. Can you please give me three names to consider in each category? I'm also overweight in North America so, to the extent that there are good international names in these categories, please include them. I have a fairly long investment horizon: 5 years until my children hit post-secondary and 20-30 years before retirement.
Thanks.

Q: Hello 5i
I’ve owned LHX for almost two years. I’m getting impatient and wondering if you would endorse a move to TT for more growth? Or any others in the same space.
Thank you
Dave

Q: Hi 5i team,
I need to increase my holdings in industrial stocks and am thinking of either TT or LMT, hoping they have a strong enough balance sheets and growth potential to come out on top after the pandemic shutdown. Which one would you buy now and why or other preference? Would you answer be different if the vaccines are not as effective and the economy lock down dragged on through 2021? Thanks.

Q: I should increase the industrial allocation in my rrif Presently I have SIS, WSP and XLI . I would appreciate your opinion regarding stocks or ETFS with some income generation and growth preferably in US or multinational ie MG. Is SIS a reasonable choice for a rrif.

Q: My parents (late 70's) will be receiving proceeds from the sale of a US asset and are looking to add to their existing investment portfolio (an additional 25%) . They are financially stable with a long term balanced portfolio and are interested in allocating the new cash into quality, long term positions with growth potential. US, Canada and industry non specific. What would you recommend as your top 5 US and Canadian positions and why?

Q: Hi, based on the companies that you cover and also US if possible, which companies are likely to have a stable and steady growth in the next 5 - 10 years ? I mean, I would like to invest in companies that are fairly valued today and that can grow steadily in the next years, not extreme high growth companies. I aim companies that will give me a CAGR > 10% but with a medium risk.

Q: Thank you for the update last night. I was not surprised to see the removal of GC due to the COVID shutdowns. I am curious to know what the discuss was surrounding GUD and CAE before providing that update. Are these potentially on the chopping block as well or just require more patience. If you were to consider swapping GUD and CAE for something else what might you recommend in Canada and the US right now (asking about US as portfolio analytics suggests I need more US exposure)?

Thanks as always for the fantastic work you all do!

Q: I would like to have a little fun with this question. Imagine a boxing match between Canadian companies and American companies...each round is represented by a sector so lets say it is a fight gone bad and there are extra rounds covering 11 sectors. Please pick a favourite Canadian Contender and a strong American contender for each round and who wins the round. Example Round 10 Technology Red corner Constellation Software vs Blue corner Microsoft. Won by Microsoft or Constellation Software. The rules...If you wish to give reasons why the round went one way or another, it's your choice. A good clean fight use the criteria of your investment strategies. The point...I am curious if the Canadian Companies stack up and in what areas I should be looking at South of the border. Thank you
