Q: Hi 5i,
Would you recommend buying SRU.UN at the current price for a 5 year minimum hold? Same question for JPM please.
I currently have BCE and considering adding a new position in TMUS, Thoughts on the addition of TMUS at current price for a 5 year minimum hold?
Thank you
Terry

Q: I currently own these stocks and am unfortunately under water on all of them.
Am considering selling two of these to incur a capital loss. Which of the two do you suggest I should keep?
With the funds raised from the sale I am considering doubling down on the remaining two. Or, adding either a Canadian or U.S. bank as another alternative. Would appreciate you comments on this strategy. And which Canadian bank or U.S. bank would you prefer.

Q: The current volatility and fear in the market has lead me to believe there will be some companies that will unnecessarily be punished/caught in the crossfire and therefore offer a great risk/return
could you please list out companies in your mind that have decreased significantly unfairly and/or offer a compelling risk/return in the US or Canadian Markets
thank you

Q: You had previously given the following criteria to judge momentum stocks: "For momentum we like a rising stock price with increasing volume, positive earnings surprises, accelerating earnings, analysts' upgrades and target prices. "

Would I be correct in assuming that in the current markets, we need to think more like value investors, however, than momentum investors? If my observation is correct how does one then analyze value stocks?

Appreciate your insight.

Q: I realize that in a recovery as you’ve noted, individual stocks will do better than ETF’s. If I’m looking for growth over a three to five year time frame would you suggest buying both SMU and XLK Or a list of individual stocks that could include MSFT JPM V WMT INTC ? I suppose a combination of the two options is also possible. This is for US exposure and it’ll be in my TFSA account which is presently sitting in cash. I believe you’d also suggest buying back in gradually. Thoughts. Thnks

Q: In a recent question I asked how to proceed in investing the 30% cash I had during this period of volatility. 5 I recommended a slow procedure... I also mentioned that I had already taken a 4.6 % position in JPM and 5 I commented that a slower approach was recommended. It promptly dropped 10% after the question.... But with the current rally is now up 5% . So the question is do I sell half to get back in line with 5 I's slow approach through the volatility or let it ride ? { there are no tax consequences to selling as it is in a RRIF }

Q: How would someone find a list of companies that have been around since the early 1900's (have gone through the depression, wars, hyper inflation etc) and never cut or suspended their dividend? Would those same companies be theoretically safe and follow the same history if we end up in a prolonged recession/depression now?

Q: Hello Team,
May I have your thoughts on both Invesco and Lazard asAmerican Asset Management companies.
Both I believe have growth and the valuation has been blown out of proportion.
If not, would you recommend siding with Morgan Stanley or JP Morgan as the better choices.

Thank you

Q: I bought MPC which only represents less than 2% of my assets but of course it is down 40%. Should I just hold, sell or perhaps consider buying some more or another oil recommenddation when the time is a tad more stable? It is in a RIF account, pays 6%
JPM represents 4% and has really tanked with the events and Jamie Dimons ill health. Just hold on or another recommendation when things balance out a little? Thank you.

Q: Hi, the big us banks have all come down significantly lately and some hitting multi years lows. What is your opinion about the situation and would it be a buying opportunity ? Can you explain why they fell down so much. I know that Warren Buffet loves them a lot for many decades. Which one is your number one pick ? Thanks
