Q: Hello 5i Team.

Thank you for all the insights into investing - it has been profitable both educationally and financially.

7% of our portfolio is in geared to health care with a holding of 5 stocks , GUD - (slightly underwater but is the hopeful flyer), Medtronic - MDT, Cardinal Health - CAH, Abbvie - ABBV, Johnson & Johnson- JNJ. In an effort to reduce the overall number of stocks in our TFSA, RRSP and taxable accounts I was considering liquidating CAH and JNJ and either purchasing more ABBV or adding SYK, unless of course you can recommend another US health care stock. JNJ and and CAH have been the laggards of the US group since my initial purchases. I realize MDT and SYK might be similar but i do believe surgeries should increase in 2022.

I enjoy reading your resources and recommend it often.

Q: Is Merk unjustifiably cheap or is it a value trap? Which of MRK, JNJ, MDT (or other suggestion) would you recommend as a buy and forget cornerstone healthcare holding for someone looking for long term capital appreciation and dividend growth. My only other healthcare position is ABBV. Please also explain the rationale. Thank you!

Q: i have held this for about 5 years and it has basically done nothing despite all the promises from management for change/consolidation etc. Would you support continuing to hold or am i better switching to a better growth name. i am retired so i like a bit of income in addition to share price appreciation. i already own ABBV and MDT and do not want to add to these positions. i am better off in Merck or PFE?

Q: Hi Peter and Staff

FInally bite the bullet on Sienna, looking to redeploy in the US topping up some or all of my US basket of health care. Please eliminate any of the above that you do not feel are a buy at this time and rank the rest within categories of strong buy, buy or hold.
Thanks for all you do

Q: Would you start a position at these levels?
I know they recalled the Lotus Aortic valve but it doesn’t represent a significant earnings miss at all.
I know you like MDT over BSX and JNJ &SYK are also great company’s that you may want to think about in this equation if we wanted to buy 2 of them in the Medical device space.
Thank you,
Nick

Q: Hi there. I hold positions in ABBV, PFE, MRNA, and AMGEN. I am looking for some supplemental help in the healthcare space and considering MDT, WBA, JNJ(on pull back and aware of legal risks).

What would your opinion and/or recommendations be on these companies JNJ/WBA/MDT Do you have one or two alternatives for a dividend conscious investor?

Thank you so much.

Q: I have been considering investing in JNJ but am concerned about its legal issues. These are highlighted in the most recent annual financial statements but are not mentioned in the subsequent quarterly releases other than to say that the company does not give guidance because it cannot predict the outcomes of legal matters. This indicates that they believe the issues are material.
Can you provide your thoughts about the company and the risks that the legal issues present.
Thanks for your advice.
