Q: hey guys just wondering what happens with a stock split does the value just without the amount of stocks increasing to keep the same value in your account thanks as always
Q: I wish to increase Infrastructure holdings. Currently own BIP -2% [utility sector], WSP - 1%, PHO - 1%.
1. What percentage would you recommend for infrastructure -growth at a reasonable price? 2. What other stocks/ETFs would you add to the mix - agree with J. 3. Others? 4. What percentage would you recommend for each?
thank you
Q: Q1: I have QCOM for quite some time. I am thing to sell it and buy higher growth NVDA and CRWD. What is your opinion? What other US growth company do you suggest?
Q2: I have PKI and AQN which are going nowhere. I have TRP also which has gained recently but is still down from its high. I am thinking to sell all three and buy higher growth GSY and NVEI. What other CDN growth company do you suggest? What order should I sell PKI, AQN and TRP?
Q3: What growth companies will be impacted positively from high energy prices and higher inflation? Thank you.
Q: I'd like your opinion in regard to which of the above would be the best investment over the next five years? Perhaps you could rank them from highest to lowest in your opinion. I've included BIP because of their likely acquistion of IPL and the broad level of infrastructure that they represent. With thanks, Don
I own IPL:CA in my RRSP account and, since I like BIP, I would like to continue with them.
As we know, the offer is $CAD 20 or 0.25 of a BIPC:CA share subject to proration.
However, there is a fairly large price differential between BIP:US/BIP.UN:CA and BIPC:US/BIPC:CA and I would like to take advantage of that.
My plan is to tender for cash and then buy BIP:US/BIP.UN:CA.
Is there any tax impact on holding BIP:US/BIP.UN:CA (a Bermuda LP) vs holding BIPC:US/BIPC:CA (a Canadian corp) in an RRSP account e.g. withheld taxes?
Q: I "discovered" today that ET dividend was reduced of 37% in my RRSP since it is a US LP (limited partnership). Is BIP " LP" In my RRSP taxed the same way ? I guess and hope not, since it is not a "US LP" .I sold ET to Buy KO+PG instead ,at least no more tax on dividends and more stability ! thanks all for points of vue .
Q: I've been looking over the large variations in valuations between this stock's ticker prices in both CDA and US. I noticed the yield between BIP:US and BIP.UN is rather tiny. Just curious, between all 4 tickers which offers the cheapest entry? If yield is included does that rearrange the order? As a separate issue could you mention the withholding tax metric as it has nothing to do with what an American calculates into a purchase of this stock?
Q: Hi
Can I have your opinion as the reason these two trading symbols on the same company are so dramatically different
I hold both and have done ok on one a very ok on the other I just don’t savvy the difference and it can’t all be tax related
Kind regards
Stan
Q: Do you see BIP.Un and WSP as similar in terms of what they do and performance in a re open global economy? WSP is too rich for me but BIP has an entry point I am comfortable with. Registered account with 7-10 year horizon
Q: Hi 5i,
Please rank the safety of current dividend payments over the next 3 years for the companies listed below. Assign a 10 for absolutely no chance of a reduction and a 1 for almost certain a reduction will happen in the next 3 years. Although I do not want to influence you on the rankings, I would give the Royal Bank a 10 as an example.
Q: You knew it would happen but I wish it had been at a premium to the pre covid price and not the current price.... I've been a longtime holder and done OK, it has paid a solid div for me over the years and I was happy with the post BIP spike last year. I sold today at the premium over the offer as I agree with you that BIP doesn't need to sweeten anything with control. Unlikely in this market and that space that a white night will come in. So my question is what should I do with the cash? I dont hold any brookfield's so buying BIP is an option or do you have a better brookfield option. I am overweight financial already so doesn't need to be in the same sector. Overall well balanced so could be anything...balanced portfolio follower slowly shifting to income.
Q: I have owned BIP on the US side of my RSP for some time. A few months ago there was a spin off and I received a number of shares of BIPC. The dividend is the same. My question is should I sell all my BIP and then buy BIPC. In your opinion will BIPC have a better chance of capital appreciation because of it's corporate structure?
