Q: MELI seems to have lost its mojo and I'm looking a stock to complement my tech strong portfolio.

Do you think finances are a good recovery play? Do you like BAC as a finance play?

What sectors companies do you like?

2020 was good to me as i was all in tech.
Time to broaden my selection.
Thanks for all your support.

Q: Hi 5i,

I currently own AC, AQN, AT, ATZ, BAM, BYD, CARR, CELH, CRWD, DOO, ENB, GSY, KRR, KXS, LSPD, LUN, MG, MITK, MMED, NUMI, NVDA, NVEI, PBH, PHO, PLTR, QCOM, QST, REAL, SCR, STC, T, TEC, U, WELL, WSP, XBC in my TFSA.

I haven’t made any changes to my portfolio since February. Has your view changed on any of these companies? Which should I sell and any new suggestions? I’m ok with high risk. Thanks for your awesome picks!

Q: Could you name 3-4 top picks in Canada or US for consumer defensive, basic materials, industrial, and utilities that would have a good outlook for the next 5-10+ years?

Q: In hindsight (which, as we know, is 20/20), I was overweight in tech and underweight in both materials (0%) and consumer cyclicals (4%). Given rising fears of inflation, I am of two minds.

A. Hold the course. Although four of my tech stocks are well below water - ARKK, KXS, U,and XBC - they are fundamentally in good shape and will rebound in time. And I've missed most of the upswing in materials and CC anyway.

B. Inflation is inevitable. I should sell off one or more of my tech losers (so I am no longer overweight in that sector), take the proceeds and invest in either materials or consumer cyclical to enable my portfolio to better cope with inflation.

If Scenario B is, in your view, the best to pursue:
1. Which tech(s) - and in what order - would you be inclined to sell?
2. If only one could be added to, would it be materials or CC?
3. What are your two favourite US consumer cyclicals today?
4. What are your two favourite US or Canadian materials today?

Many thanks for your guidance.

Maureen

Q: I’d appreciate your thoughts on SUP (in the USA) and its outlook. On a related note, what other cyclicals come to mind that are still way down from their historical highs but are a good bet to reach them again? They could be small, mid or large caps, but the more upside the better. Thanks.

Q: CIA and RS have both been on my watch list. CIA has hit the price at which I was prepared to buy, but with such a drop in price over the last short while, I am just checking with you to see if there's something I've missed before I pull the trigger ?
Also, would RS, which hasn't come off like CIA, be a significantly preferred choice or some of both ? Any thoughts on entry price for RS ?
Thank you, as always.

Q: I have similar weightings of MDB, DOCU, PAYC, CRWD, GH, NET, and TWLO in my US RRSP account. As per the recent report recommendation from 5i, I would like to rotate some of my lesser quality stocks into strong value stocks or ETFs. Can you suggest 2 of 3 of the above that you would recommend I reduce or sell out and what strong value plays would make sense to backfill them with? Am I interpreting the guidance of the report correctly? Thanks!!

Q: CRWD reports after market tomorrow. I hold it in my U$ account. Down 7%, probably paid too much for it. Buying US market is not my forte. In U$ account I hold CRWD, CAE, TIXT, in C$ account VGG and VFV. I have a balanced portfolio with a bit overweight tech.
I am considering selling CRWD on news and looking elsewhere for better opportunities. Would like your opinion . Could I have two or three of your top picks for non Canadian securities.

Q: Question regarding Google's announcement of changes to third party cookies and your thoughts on the potential benefits this may bring for some companies. I know its affecting companies like TTD but wouldnt ROKU benefit because they have their own ecosystem and can see what people watch, search for etc. or a company like FB who can see status's, conversations, group posts about products people still share so much information plus instagram (sharing info between the two). Or a PINS who again has its own ecosystem and can use that data to sell ads on its own site... hope this makes sense.

Also as of right now with the further rotation out of growth, what are your top 5 "buy now" companies that you *could* see rebounding quite nicely when the dust settles.

Q: Hi,
Current tech holdings at 24% (which doesn't include AMZN, GOOG, FB - included them in consumer disc. and telecom). These three would add another 3% weight if included in tech. Are you comfortable at 24-27% tech for a growth investor?
I'm looking to trim my tech slightly and add to these sectors - Materials, Energy, Industrials, Financials. Looking for asset-heavy, cyclical, economically sensitive companies. What would be your top 2-3 growth picks in each four sectors (cdn or US) that will benefit with inflation, rising rates, and further economic opening? Thanks!
