Q: So much news these days about the ramp up to electric vehicles and the eventual elimination of internal combustion engines.

Governments have committed to installing charging stations to accommodate future demand.

What is the current status of power generating facilities. How easily can they ramp up supply to satisfy the future demand or is there already enough capacity.

What are your favourite Canadian and US power generators to satisfy this demand. Thank you

Q: I missed the recent pop in CEG although I've done quite well in Vistra which I still hold. Other than Vistra, what USA stocks would you recommend for an AI-related energy play? I'm thinking GEV? Thank you,

Jason

Q: Hi
I recently learnt about the AI energy consumption issue. What opportunities/threats does this issue pose to investors? Are there specific subsectors or types of companies (within the energy sector) that will benefit from or be hit through the course of the AI story?
Any specific recommendations ETFs or stocks?
Thank you

Q: I currently hold all these stocks, with the exception of elf. I came up with the thanks in large part to 5i as these are names that have come up in various Q&As. If you had to pick only 10 to hold long term (which for me is 1 year), what would be your ten? The 10 should be those that are the best expected performs regardless of diversification or risk. Just the top 10. Alternately., would you suggest holding them all but with different weightings and if so please comment on a suggested weighting.

My plan was to hold 10 with 10% in each but I’m not married to that idea.

Thank you kindly.

Q: Hi Peter,
What’s your view of VST and HUBB for a 2-3 years hold? Do these two companies have strong fundamentals, underlying health of their operations, their long-term growth prospects, and ability to generate profit regardless of the economy and inflation? Would you consider them over valuated at this point? What is a good entry price for these two stocks? Thanks.

Q: Hello,

Since the last question, insiders have continued to buy, and debt seems to be more manageable now, at least according to TD Bank / ThomsonReuters. I'd be grateful to hear any update in your thinking on this one, half a year later.

On a related note, I've noticed over the years that CFOs tend to buy less than other officers, such as CEOs and Directors. Is it stretching things to assume CFOs are more conservative by nature, and that significant insider buying by a CFO is a slightly stronger indicator than by another officer? Am curious to hear your take.

Please deduct two credits.

Thanks,

Marc.

Q: Any thoughts on Vistra Corp. Company on a valuation basis is cheap, the metrics from a p/e, cash flow , growth point of look good. Part of their revenues are from coal plants and that has held back the share price, they are however transitioning out of them with a future focus on renewable energy. BAM is one their largest shareholders and should aid the transformation to more renewable energy (primarly solar ). Thank you for the great work
