Q: We keep hearing chip shortages lately, and will imagine that "AMD', TSM', NVDA'....chip names will do well as a result of strong demand and price power etc. But most of these chip names are all well below their February highs. Could you help us understanding the share price and demand divergence observed? If we buy any of these names, will we be rewarded? If yes, which one or ones you like? Thanks

Q: I have held CVS for approx. 6 months and virtually it is flat. There have been many recommendations from the street however I have 22,000.00 which seems to be dead money. Should I sell and buy some tech stock like Oracle or Taiwan semiconductor. Do you have a suggestion other than these 2?
Cheers, Doug

Q: Current market volatility has me seeking companies that have 'wide moats' making them somewhat less susceptible to market noise. I would appreciate it if you would suggest the names of some American companies that you would consider to be 'wide moat' types of companies. If there are some that currently provide value this would be a bonus.

Q: Hi,
Could you comment on my profolio for a 5 year hold? Should I add/remove/replace any of the stocks?
Also, Cathie Wood said she is expecting a drop of the market this year. However I currently have ZERO cash position. Do you think I should trim my profolio to have some cash? If yes how much percent do you recommend?
Thanks!

Q: Good morning.
I am looking to buy one of the 4 listed. My distillation of reading your responses to questions is that you would recommend NVDA. Is this correct? Thanks.

Q: I would like to use my $10,000 in my TSFA for a technology stock, either software, hardware. I am balanced in my account, so I would like a growth even speculative stock. It can be either Canadian or US

Q: Hi,

I hold a 2.5% position in NVDA after selling half to lock in my original costs. I'd like to pick up another high growth chip maker/developer/fabricator, and the listed companies are on my watch list. Ideally the company would have a great balance sheet (net cash), a pipeline of great products and great opportunity for growth - no dividend needed. Can you endorse one or two and/or recommend something not on the list?

Q: Good morning 5i,
I notice that you give lists of stocks. So, I will ask a similar question but perhaps more difficult. If one were interested in building a socially responsible portfolio, I hear that 15 to 20 stocks would do, what would you choose, given the need for domestic, US and International?
thanks

Q: NVDA up 200%, AMD up 180%, TSM up 79% and QCOM up 70% in one year. Can I have your opinion on which would have more legs for continued share rise given current conditions within these companies, etc. Thanks so much. Dam Dan

Q: Hi,
This is a follow up question to your response to Bob's question on NVDA, AMD. Having only recently purchased AMD, I am somewhat concerned about a lengthy wait for AMD's price to resume an uptrend with the burden of XLNX. At the moment I am down 1/2% and wondering if it is prudent to exit and put the money to work in another growth opportunity? I currently own NVDA and could simply add to it. Other options might be TSM, MPWR, or IPHI. I would welcome your thoughts and any suggestions you may have. Thanks for keeping us informed!

Q: I am looking to add solid Dividend payers with a history of growing their dividends, and TSM looks like it fits that bill. Plus TSM's Total Return % has risen consistently and impressively over 1,3,5 and 10 year periods. Do you see a significant risk in its not having a 'wide moat'? I'd be looking to add shares during any future Market downturn. Or would you prefer Intel, which has a smaller but decent dividend and currently trading at more of a discount, whereas TSM might be considered to be trading at a Premium right now?
Thank you!

Q: Have been dithering on having a greater tech exposure for my portfolio due to my ignorance of the space. Nonetheless, have narrowed down to two choices, Descartes or Taiwan Semiconductor. Given their low correlation (.25) would you favor, one, the other or both? (anticipated total exposure < 5%) Currently have a small, speculative position in PHO:CA (<2%) Other solid, possibly dividend paying suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
